    Default Holiday Event Gear

It would be cool to introduce a sentient jewel to the holiday events. Mabar, Risia, etc. I would like to see epic level weapons that can be bartered from these events can have a sentient jewel slot as well. This could make some of the items we get better and more up to date with filigrees.

    Thoughts?

I'd love to see some more Event Sentient Gems.

Personally, I'd like a Succubus-voiced one for Night Revels because according to Eberron Lore succubi come from Mabar. Crystal Cove would be a great place for a pirate-voiced sentience as close to Hatchet-faced Ned as possible (epic 3BC map note voice). Risia and/or Midwinter Festival could have a low, breathy voice that makes one think of winter... perhaps an absent minded older gentleman?

    As for weapons?
    Hmmm.

    Anniversary Quest:
I'd still like to see a finessable light mace that looks like the Broccoli Beater only it would be the Brussel Sprout Beater
We could use a higher level version of the Banhammer

    Risia/Midwinter:
I'd like to see additional Wintry recipes requiring a substantial amount of motes
    Icy Depths
    Wintry
    Freezing Gale

I'm not sure where they could be added but I'd love to see:

Blood Scented Axe Body Spray (Thelanis)
    Aelonwy - Wydavir - Metaluscious - Aertimys - Phantastique - Kaelaria - Lunaura - Aelurawynn - Saurscha - Crystalorn - Aurvaeyn - Vaelyns - Wyllowynd

I suspect Sentient Jewels (and Sentient Jewel experience nuggets) help drive up Adventure Pack sales. As such, I expect to see more Sentient Jewels (and nuggets) attached to Adventure Packs. Conversely, I doubt we will see any more Festival related Sentient Jewels (or nuggets) as they would drive down sales of the aforementioned Adventure Packs. The recent change to the Rose Colored Glasses clearly demonstrates a desire to place a high priority on sales.

To my knowledge, all existing ML20+ Festival weapons accept Sentient Jewels with one exception--ML20+ weapons with an upgrade path cannot accept a Sentient Jewel. As I recall, that was done to prevent players from accidentally upgrading a weapon with a Sentient Jewel and destroying it. All relevant Anniversary and Crystal Cove weapons accept Sentient Jewels. The weapons from Night Revels with an upgrade path do not.

Oh, I keep hoping, too. I hope Festival vendors will get new Cosmetic Items, new Sentient Jewels, new Cookies, and other fun stuff. I hope I get the surprise of my life and loot a Cosmetic Dress or a Hair Style from a plain old Treasure Chest. However, the part of me that pays the bills tempers those wishful musings with serious thoughts of sad reality.

I like the cosmetics and all, but I wish that the weapons were worth getting as well. If a sentient jewel system was introduced for crystal cove and Mabar, and Risia fest, they may be actually worth the time. Many people do not join the events due to the fact that the gear is outdated and they complain that it may never improve. I wish that they could improve the weapons so they match Ravenloft and Disciples of Rage status. So introducing a sentient item would be great!

    Ideas?

I agree aelon, I do think that those would be cool to see!

All we can do is hope

    Well...

All equipment from Crystal Cove was updated last year. Lynnabel worked with players for weeks, adjusting items based on copious feedback, and many people appreciated her efforts. I certainly did. A new Dagger (Flotsam) and new Spyglass were also added.

The Night Revels received 2 new dungeons, a new version of Delara's Graveyard, a new Buckler (Specter Deflector), and a new Rune Arm (Astral Projector--it shoots ghosts). Even people who have no need for the equipment run it for Augments.

The 2018 to 2019 Festivult event included the usual Cookie changes plus three new Cosmetic Items, available from the Glamerdust Trader. A few of us asked for some Night Revels style dungeons and new equipment to collect.

As a result of player feedback (mine included), The Festival of the Traveler did not run in 2018. Based on subsequent player feedback I expect a return in 2019 but no new activities or items.

I cannot remember if the DeGenev Brothers ran last year or not. That one really needs some help.

The Risia Ice Games and Midwinter Festival should appear in a few more days. We must wait and hope they received some updates.

If I recall correctly, Lynnabel stated something to the effect that Festival equipment is not intended as Raid equivalent/end game type stuff. Reading between the lines, I suspect that means they want to sell us Expansions and Quest Packs for the really good equipment. Therefore, I doubt Event stuff will ever truly rival Raid/End Game stuff. I am personally fine with that.

For about two years, the developers have put much more effort into Events--adding new dungeons, offering new items, updating old items. I am very happy with that shift in policy and really hope it continues. Based on my own observations, Crystal Cove and Night Revels were significantly more popular than usual in 2018.

I hope that answers or at least informs your questions.

Adding my appreciation to the tremendous efforts of last years events. *claps enthusiastically*

I agree, SSG has done an amazing job with their updates of quests and items. It would be nice if this year, they can put sentient slots for an update of their holiday loot.

    Would be nice
