I've been playing D&D and games based off it for about 22 years. Over the years I played a wide variety of games across many platforms. The one game that set itself apart from others was Planescape Torment. The story was unlike all other RPGs I had previously played and the tone was initially unusual but became something rather amazing as the story progressed.
The tale of the Githzerai and Githyanki was told in a way that held some aspect of mysticism, cleverly wrapped up within the primary narrative. My idea for an expansion is to step away from the familiar and look at the huge possibilities that Sigil (or something similar) may offer.
New World:
Sigil, City of Doors. This would allow for huge exploration of quests through space and time.
New system:
* Psionics
Possible New Weapons:
* Punching Dagger
* Spear
Possible New Classes:
* Psion
* Soulknife
* Psychic Warrior
New Destiny Sphere:
* Psionic
Possible New Races
* Githzerai
* Githyanki (+ Iconic Sorcerer maybe)
For the completionists:
9 class past lives
9 epic past lives
6 racial past lives
3 iconic past life
= 27 past lives
With existing ki and magic systems, Psionics could be directly adapted. It would be great having a second class that uses Ki and explore how to create synergy with existing class combinations.
Bottom Line:
* New content and past lives = more SSG revenue
* More grind for the grinders
* More content variety for the explorers
* Great opportunities casual or relaxed players to find something new and different
Thanks for taking the time to read.
