Big money-maker and character consolidation idea - Otto's Magical Merge (Win/Win)

Problem: Because of the addition of Reaper mode and Racial Reincarnations, most players are focusing their efforts on only a relatively few (or one) heroes, leaving many old and lonely heroes in the Stormreach Retirement Home.
Solution: Introduce a new store item: Otto's Magical Merge

Effects: Merges two characters from one account. The source character will be permanently deleted. The target character will receive:
1) The highest value of every skill, stat, fate, and learning tome values from the source character.
2) The cumulative added effect of all Heroic, Epic, and Racial past lives (and past-life abilities) from the source character.
3) The cumulative Reaper XP from the source character.
4) All inventory items from the source character.
5) Other key things I may have missed?

To minimize impact to bank space, SSG could require that the source and/or target characters have their TR-cache cleared out.

I, for one, would gladly purchase 4995 points from the store for each Magical Merge.
In return, SSG would gain 50% character slot space for many old-time players.

this doesn’t solve any problems and just creates less revinue options for ddo. The problem is the power of reaper points and racial past lives eclipes what previous past lives gained by a substantial amount. Thus new caricters are at a strong disadvantage to old charicters. This in turn means that there is a disencentive to run alts. The lack of alts mean fewer end game toons, less tome sales in the store, and ultimatly less play time by the players.

The solution to this problem is not a handy way to remove alts. What is neaded is a way that alts are not eclipesed in power by as large of an amount. Lots of people have suggested various ways to meat this issue. I’m not going to get into it.

Reaper experiences and past lives should be shared on one server on your account.
And this feature should be free and no stupid monetization for something that should be in DDO.
I voted for this already long ago but I see games like Diablo III have something similar too.
Long-term character progression is shared while you still have to level up your characters to the max level and equip them.
Of course, SSG should continue to introduce new ways of character progression so there is always enough to do even if you focus on only one character.
