    When i run as an undead I'm pleasantly surprised when a monster heals me with negative energy. The key point is surprised. It happens so infrequently that i am rather skeptical that increasing the damage by NEB will have any impact. Keep in mind that when I'm healed by mobs its just as often chill touch or the negative ray and neither of those are going to be changed. I would expect changing how this spell targets (it fails to cast if you target is not in touch range) will have a much bigger impact on player experience.

    I expect others who play undead will agree with theses observations.

    Your point about self selected people reading to this thread is spot on however.

    I haven't played the Wizard class (Beyond level 15) yet, but doesn't it make sense that this spell should have some weight to it when directed at a player character?

    Fighting the things that release negative energy bursts shouldn't be a cakewalk but I agree the patch notes should specify clearly that certain threat types just got their arsenal upgraded. Thematically, a Negative Energy Burst should be scary. So should the bug-a-boo casting it.

    My own two cents, though.

    Just a curiosity, but a relevant one...what monsters actually DO cast NEB?

    I'm assuming this doesnt also affect the evil burst that some vampires do? I remember reading somewhere that they can have a nasty Warlock-style burst of Evil-type damage that can catch you unaware...I'd hate to see a string of unexpected deaths in Epic Orchard after this change went live

    Did this get changed in U43? Or is it still 1d6 rather than 1d6+4?

    Nope, still using old scaling and damage dice (1d4+4 per 2 caster levels vs 1d6+4 per caster level).

    Bumping this post... it would be really nice to see, one day, a bug list with prioritisation and a time plan

    One way to help Palemasters without repairing Negative Energy Burst would be to make Harm scrolls standard (non rare) and let them be purchasable... maybe a simple solution to this ongoing problem?

    EDIT Making HARM scrolls purchasable would also help the unpopular Abyss Pact.
