That it took 12 years to get here and yet still so many races and classes to add.
The gaps in # of quests (and therefor xp) for some levels.
Not being able to join low epics while in high heroics.
Things look like they are generated on the fly but instead are there from the get go of the instance (and mobs not going away either.)
Getting video/engine lag due to slow loading / package loss.
Not being able to create your own quests.
The limitations of the inventory system, things being bound to character in particular.
Not being able to trade anything and everything, mostly where it involves ingredients.
After all this time we're still not able to do a mass raid, like 24+ peeps.
The low droprates, S/S/S system encourages multiboxing, overall it encourages cheating and buying things from outside the game,
The big gap between the leet haves and the noob haves not.

Well done, Chai, 1 post with 2 quotes that have me nodding so vigorously I'm risking whiplash

^This - allow more play styles and you'll attract and retain more players, insist on a specific play style because "it's what you intended" and you'll drive them away. Plus, if your attempt to limit a play style harms my unrelated play style, I won't pay you

^This. Measure how many mobs you can handle pathing for before lag starts, multiply that number by .75, and set that as a cap beyond which new agro mobs will cause the oldest to drop off the list "Aw, heck, Ugluk's got those intruders now, I'm going back to my fried rat before it gets cold".

Don't whine to me how hard it is to control lag when your own decisions are causing it. Don't mess up the game for everyone to stop a few from doing something that personally offends you. I'm sorry if not every player will sniff every hand crafted flower in every hand crafted dungeon you slaved away at, but you've got a game to run, and your obsession with stopping zergers is interfering with that.

I'm interested to see what other players think regarding the theme what kills your fun in DDO.
Notice this is only about things SSG's developers can actually change or work on in some way.
I nominate in order of importance even if all of them are annoying...

#1 Server LAG (lag that is not caused by my PC or my connection and really on the DDO server)

#2 Dungeon Alert (I know in some quests it makes some sense but if this would be removed entirely from the game I would certainly loose not single tear because of it )

#3 The Reincarnation Cache (something that is certainly not needed and it causes major headaches for me every time I'm forced to empty it)

#4 Not enough space for items

#5 Luck based loot system (I repeat a quest xx times and at the end, I'm exactly at the point where I started, namely with nothing I wanted)

You can, of course, nominate whatever you want even if someone else did it already.
And maybe this could lead into a poll because I think this should be interesting for SSG's developers.
Worst fun-killers in DDO are Whinny Elitist, Dungeon Alert would not exist if it weren't for them! Broken Reaper mechanics would not exist if it weren't for them!
Most of the fun killers are because Elitist ruin the game so as I been told many times git gud wit it scrubs.

    Hires kill all the fun.
Sometimes I pull one out just to watch it die over and over. That's how much I hate hires.

    1) The OBSCENE amount of collectables for crafting and item. I'm still really red-a**ed about this.

    2) The lack of craft-able trinkets in the game as well as orbs. AM had a special enhancement for orbs, but because all orbs are named, it's not really worth taking. And craft-able trinkets come from 3 possible places: Shroud (raid), Devil Invasion, and the store. I have gotten 2 drops for a dedicated craft-able trinket (as opposed to the Shards) this in my time...nearly a decade ago.

Now I really want to highlight this: I have 6 characters that I run on a fairly regular basis, but I play virtually every day, 2 - 3 hours, three quests (roughly four chests on average), every quest we always do ransack, for nearly 10 years now. In that time, I've had 2 craft-able trinkets drop in that time. They've either disappeared from the loot lists, or that is one of the most messed-up random number generators I've seen in existence.

Scratch that - the running joke in my guild is how the meteor ruby augment almost ALWAYS procs on the last hit before the kill. The random number generator is whacked. did too much LDS in the 60s, or whatever...

    3) The fact that there is no alternate first-level adventure pack out there. I cringe TR-ing, as I have to listen to Celima scream "CHARRRRRGGGGGEEEE!!!!", and the construct do it's bad Mr. Spock impersonation. Please God, give me some variety...!

    4) No Improved / Greater/ Sovereign Banishers / Paralyzers...and what happened to Disruptors? C'mon, man: give us back the cool weapons, or give us augments that do the same. The same goes for slaying arrows.

    5) Ammo management. Ammo can be a real equalizer for ranged characters, and on Heroic 5(?) through 16, it's nice to pull out slaying arrows and drop stuff in its tracks. But having to collect those arrows? It becomes a MAJOR pain when you have to stuff six or more quivers in your bank / inventory. At least give some dedicated bank space to stocking arrows / darts / bolts / hammers / knives, whatever.

Edit: The "ransack" remark was directed towards bashing crates / barrels, which can yield loot drops.

They can be awarded for the coin turn-ins in the Risia festival. But it isn't a common reward. I think I've gotten 3 from that event across the years. And they are also a very, very rare random drop. I've pulled exactly one, which is the only way I know that they can be found randomly.

This is a good point. For me a part of the fun and strategy of playing a ranged character is carrying and using the right ammo for the right situation. But the game makes this very difficult. You can't easily swap ammo via your quivers, and that means you need to clog your hotbars and backpack with several different types of ammo, which then only lasts until the stack is expended. Almost all players I know just use one ammo type and use the weapon itself to break DR or apply special effects. Which makes special ammunition types almost worthless.

Can't you use the compasses that often appear on the end reward list of wheloon and stormhorns quests?

Not anymore, the Wheloon/Storm Horns "random" items caused strange issues with crafting and can no longer be disjuncted as of... 2-3 updates ago?

Good lord...so much to comment on...

    * Reincarnation cache - If this is a problem for you, stop putting so much junk into it! It is only as gunked up as you make it when you reincarnate people!

    * UI - This does need a serious facelift. It also needs to be system independent. I travel a lot and simply do not play on my laptop because it screws up my UI.

    * Reaper complaints - You literally got what you asked for!

    * Dungeon Alerts - DA was created specifically to stop people from overloading the servers by zerging through all of the mobs. It wasn't a lag fix in and of itself. I suppose that another thing that might help would be to shorten the leashes a bit, but I don't know how difficult that would be to code system-wide. I don't zerg, but I do occasionally find myself in Orange and Red alert situations.

    * Pathing - Trying to do comparisons with Everquest is nonsensical. Everquest had extremely simple pathing to the point that it was absurd. You could pull a mob, run back, take a step to the left and watch it run back and forth along its path to get to you (this could also result in oddities like accidentally pulling half a dungeon as your mob runs through multiple other rooms or stepping into a dungeon and being summoned directly down to the BBEG because your bard song aggroed it...true story). Comparing DDO to D3 is also nonsensical as D3 lacks a dimension. Pathing in DDO is further complicated by the fact that all objects, including players and other mobs have to be pathed around in real time.

    * Lag in general - I don't really see it outside of when an event is running and rarely even then. I have a pretty good rig as well as a good connection and solo though, so I'm pretty well insulated from the things that cause lag.

    * Bind to Character/Bind to Account - IMHO, outside of quest rewards and raid items, nothing should be bind to character or bind to account.

1· TR Cache. TRing is lost about 1 hour taking things from TR Cache, then TR, then 30 min taking useful things from TR Cache (because if it is full… ufff… more time spended)

2· Some type of Lag. I just swap toons and then LOT of lag. Dunno the reason behind… but but to much lag. And im only swaping toons 1 time.

3· BtC ? items, i think that the specials ? items like LGS should be BtC, but wich is the main issue with the rest? Not Alt friendly. Will not “screw up” the ?*tem pass on raids.

4· Caster Damage on Mid/High Reaper… really? Are you try a nuker on high reaper? Or… are you even play a caster… all the update has been on MELEE types… so are the devs even try a caster? (wizard , sorcerer, caster druid, FvS.. etc….) only path instakiller? Really? I really miss been a nuker. (Wizard EK = melee, the thing with bard tree = melee; and VERY Little changes on caster dps, ok… you did a SMALL improvement, but nuker are still outdated)

5· Unfriendly noobs things like: bags, obsolete items from low level end rewards from some low lvl packs (context: the last month had a few Friends comming to DDO, and they dont now what thing is useful and what is junk, i try to help them…) (And my first advice for them was… CON is not a dump stat, 2/4 re-do there characters, they come from pnp) This point can have a entire page, so ill left this here.

6· Inventory Space. Throught the years, i got a lot of BtC items, pots, etc… (Have at least 3 bank alts to keep some bta things). Now at lvl 30 i use literally 100 inventory space on different things (pots, bags, special gear, scrolls, “keys”, etc…) At this point, 1 more year and ill need sell 1 time per quest.

7· DA. But i understand why you do this things. My firts life were a Sorcerer, used to love pull everything and the nuke them (ok ok … that was YEARS ago, near mmm 2010) but now is… you pull mmm 1 room and red alert? Really?. Now avoid this but… like the other post say… many rooms.. you shot 1 and red alert. LOL.

8· This one is NOT devs fault. People who do lfm for raids ans have 2 account on this. First thing we lost a useful spot for the raid, second he/she have double chance of loot. Really hate saw that kind of posts… know that i know the name, i dont join anymore. But not all know of this… if he/she were a friend asking for help to loot something, ok. Ill help him. But hate that he/she just double account for RAID loot(btw thanks for do ToF bta). And idc about the keepers, those people who… for example: they dont gonna play a melee but take melee things, IDC its his/her loot.

9· Hirelings. Ufff… really need a Mass Healing?, cant you put them Mass Cure instead? And… i call my hireling while i have 5% HP (and i have to put him agressive to heal me or he dont do nothing), he have 65% HP, but… first he self heal, then throws to you a cure light damage? And them… nothing… NOTHING, i have to click it to heal me LOL. (And any no-healer (no cleric/fvs) its even worse). Oh. And btw… outdated on everything(spells/dc, etc). On a lvl 30 toon i still use Lilo, the best trapper… a lvl 21 rogue. Really? Why all the other epic rogue blow up the panel and she is the only one who get it? (and yes, augment summoning ?*tem).

    10. Endless Monologues from npc on quest. I really like the history behind, but… endless elminster speach… uff omg. Or the optional on Sealed in Amber. Usually, we get this part… let them blah blah blah, mean while we explore the rest… but its annoying when you just go in for the loot. Its like “Ok, did all the quest, now im ready for my loot… “ and Bazinga… you need 5min more to they talk before you can kill the bad guys and get the loot.

Ok. I could keep going… but i read something about max 10 things :P

(Sorry for the long post without a potato.. ops... that thing isnt here jajajajja)

there is no max of 10 you can freely repeat what others already mentioned and list everything you want.
My list contains just things that frequently make me *facepalm but it's your decision what is annoying enough to add it to your personal list.

I have so many toons on their second life! I haven't heard of anyone playing similarly like I do. I tend to dislike the TR train in general. Heh.

(sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread)

This isn't something that the devs can fix, but my daughters and I went into the rat dungeon many years ago. I felt it was soul sucking and stopped playing for TWO WEEKS! Since then, I have joined a PUG a few times but still don't like nor know this quest.

I did thanks. This thread is for complaints so you know what you can do with your opinion.

Speaking of complaints what happened to mnenomic potions drop rates? I used to get like 25 a TR now I get like 4. Also they used to be all over the auction house now you never see them.

    Ridiculous stinginess by the devs.
