Default Recommended build to Lesser Reincarnate to in order get Primal Avatar

The character I am running is first life, 28 point build, chaotic good human ranger.

I'm running the Strimtom Acid Arrow build currently. I just finished capping Shirandi Champion and it really worked well with the build. I am planning to go to 30 so I can Epic Reincarnate and then Heroic True Reincarnate directly afterward.

Since I have to get 6 million karma anyway I want to cap all three destinies in Primal. However, Primal Avatar looks like its going to be exceptionally painful to level as a ranged weapon build. Then I started to think that maybe if I could Lesser Reincarnate into a melee build, then Primal Avatar might at least be bearable. I looked around and a lot of builds seem to rely on different races than human or multi-classing.

Given my current character and sticking to plain Lesser Reincarnation, what might be a good build that I could use to get through Primal Avatar? Thanks!

Honestly, it boils down to how well you feel you're doing in your current build. Are you struggling to kill things, or breezing through dungeons? And what difficulty are you running?

The main appeal of Primal Avatar is Balanced Attacks, which knocks folks down on vorpal melee strikes. This isn't actually half bad for a Tempest ranger. Since it's a tier 3 ability, you'd spend at least half your time in PA using that.

Strimtom also has a Tempest build - while specifically for Aasimar, you could swap a few feats around (IC: Slashing instead of bludgeoning, for example) as you see fit.

Alternatively if you have a few siberys dragonshards, you could do a few feat swaps, respec your enhancements and gain 2m xp in a slightly sub-optimal version of his build. But that's going to depend on what dungeon difficulty, gear, etc that you have

    1. I would not LR. OK, maybe you don't like Avatar with your bow build, but it doesn't take*that* long to fill a destiny and move on. Question: what will you do when its time to do dunno, Magister?

    2. As Ranger you already have all melee oriented feast. I bet you have Precision. So the only thing that are missing is:
    - Imp. critical: <insert melee weapon>
    - respec Enhancements and go crazy on Tempest.

Now, imp. critical is more damage, but is not the end of the world. Plus you could maybe craft or get a "keen" version.

So a bit of ingame plat(enhancement respec) and get a nice pair of melee weapons and you should be fine.

I'm generally running epic normal. Some named gear but the rest is lootgen. I don't have much progress in any of the crafting so no green steel, etc. I am managing them so far though but its mostly been level 20-23 quests. I looked at the Strimtom tempest build but wasn't sure how to adjust it to make it work. I'll take a closer look and maybe compare with some of the tempest trapmonkey builds and filter out the non-ranger parts.

When its time to do other spheres my plan was to run them with a different heroic class. I like the idea of working through several lives, classes and races and ending up with an improved version of my main character.

Thanks, part of what I was looking for was some advice from builds for the enhancement parts since I'm not very versed in build theory. You are right that I probably can make it through on an enhancement respec though.
