Lost all game audio

The last time my static group got together, I was coming back from an afk and my mic slipped out of my hand and bounced off the floor.
Didn't work after that.
So I've went and bought 2 new mics that also don't work. Kept the original pair around for reasons I don't know, but decided to play around with them.
I CAN get audio through the internet (YouTube). Wearing them as I type this with the game running in the background and nothing.

Any ideas?

the connection into the computer is not the problem? maybe a loose contact?
- check your audio settings under windows
- chose a diff mic, restart launcher, chose the right mic, restart launcher

The last time I lost audio in-game, a computer restart fixed it. Not sure if it was the Windows update that needed installing that was goofing things up, probably that was just incidental. But the ol' Tech Support go-to of, "Have you turned it off and back on," worked. But until I restarted, I had None listed as my audio output options. After, everything was back to normal.

Also check your ingame settings after restarting the client.

make sure the device is detected and the correct one selected.

It could be hardware (check your connections etc.), but I've had this happen and I know for a fact I changed nothing. One night it was fine, next morning - bupkiss.

Go into Options / Audio, and first, about half-way down, check the "Sound Playback". I found mine had switched to "none" - that was a clue. But even if it looks right, switch it, relog, then switch it back - sometimes you just have to wake it up. Also make sure your volumes (esp Master) are up.

I don't know if it was a combination of some of the above suggestions, but the "sound playback" switcharoo was the last thing I did and it's working now.
