    Default TWF weapon styles question

    What are your thoughts on:
    a) dual wield bastard swords vs.
    b) dual wield kopeshes vs.
    c) bastard sword plus kopesh on off hand

My thoughts are that if you look at the math, you don't need to think about it. Khopeshes win, and dual Khopeshes win twice.

Only real reasons for Bastard Swords would be flavor, or if you have a lot of good ones in inventory.

(If you're a Dwarf, Dwaxes come close, if you need to save that feat.)

Bastard swords are usually for those who use Bsword + shield/rune arm/off hand.

The above point about Dwarven axes is solid - works well with the 'throw your weight around' of the dwarf if you want a max HP build rather than a max dam build. I did this once, it's fun.

    Makes sense. Thank you both.

I play twf since 2010. I play it dual wielding khopeshes. There are some options that might have as good result, depending on the build. Some vistani builds dual wielding daggers can deal a bunch of dmg, because of all the doublestrike they can put in, and the major perks from vistani tree. Dual wielding heavy picks still have massive damage too. Dwarven axes are cool if you're a dwarf, and warhammers can be decent for the same race (with the new hammers it's doable, and they break more dr's than either slash or pierce). With the scimitars from Disciples of Rage pack, I can see a ranger twf getting massive damage too.

It only depends on what you're building for.

too general. depends on the build, level range, named items etc.

For example, assassins are better with daggers. A ninja makes a Brush Hook rather powerful but that is a specific named item and not necessarily endgame.
