My name is Saul, yes as in the series.
Longtime MMO player but new to DDO. Been testing out the game with a few characters on other servers. Highest lvl i reached so far was a lvl 10 ranged dps ranger. But hanging in the back got a bit boring so i gave up on that. So i been looking into some melee cookie cut outs and basically boiled it down to two sorts i want to play. Fighter tank or barb dps. So my question to you guys is what do you look for between these two choices, you need tanks or melee dps?
As i said i played mmo for a while now so don't think i can't handle the work required of me. As an example i did play the main tank for my guild on SWTOR for an entire year. I'm sure i soon enough get back into the swing of it, so just let me know what you prefer.

Back when I played before, I was invited to the guild I was in by someone from it that I quested with regularly, so even if things are/were the same as nearly a decade ago, I realize I have no idea how to actually /join/ a guild without someone sending you an invite...

Since coming back it appears my old account was deleted (apparently that's a thing) so my highest level character on any server is a level 6 cleric on Cannith, if you don't mind newbies (and honestly, despite the quests all being the same as before, I feel like a newbie in the usual sense).
