    Default Cloaks

In recent interviews the devs have been hinting at a new surprise coming (if they could get the tech working) Now that cloaks have been confirmed what are your feelings? Excited or meh?

If cloaks look good in general and if all named cloaks fit their descriptions, fine.
If we get a cosmetic cloak slot straight away, fine.
If cloaks look like stiff bits of fairly inflexible felt, that don't quite move with character movement or weather conditions, then they're a bit of a wasted use of resources that could have been better spent on redesigning everything about PDKs along with half elf faces, adding new hairstyles and armours that match some of the NPC outfits available, making male elves look less wizened and careworn, resizing pauldrons on existing armours down to realistic sizes etc.

That's not lag, it's just DDO trying to become turn-based again.

Is this real? This would be crazy awesome, I never saw it coming. If they are actually adding visible cloaks though, they would need to be animated and have unique appearances for most named cloaks. This would be an amazing increase in character appearance customization.

It's ... meh. There are a lot of similar improvements that could be made to existing items that would be a lot more exciting to me.

    I like it.

Although... the Invisible Cloak of Strahd should provoke some interesting responses...

So far it has proven to be an accurate name, being invisible from every chest.

Ahh, you got unlucky then. There was one that dropped lately for the runs I was in. Hope you get to see one in your runs soon.

But back to the point, either the Devs will make a shimmering effect, or they simply won't have a model at all for it. But whatever the case, it'll be sure to produce an interesting response when it becomes available for players.

Hope to see a green cloak. Even better if it's short like half-length. There's practically no outfits in-game for making a classic archer look. A green cloak might help augment some existing outfits.

Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

Cloaks Update is better than a Class X pass Update, that would ruin the said class to the ground.
But… Would it come with the storage system update ? People need space to store their cloaks, you know. :-\

Anyway, everyone love cosmetic items and DDO surely can benefit from getting more of those. But… I'd personally love more gameplay-related stuff, like new Spells and Monsters. A LOT of new monsters. And not just for the new dungeons, some of the old ones must be repopulated with the new monsters. That would make running those quest a little bit not so boring, when you run them for 1000+1 time.

I remember the day cloaks were added in Neverwinter nights. It really changed the look of the game. If this goes through, I hope they will also add cloak glamering.

I would love to see this, and thanks for the visual.
"When asked if the developers hate the players, as they make so many challenging jumping puzzles, their response was that they have what they consider a “… normal amount of contempt for the players.” This is good. A dungeon master should always nurse a healthy contempt for his or her players."
