Default How to gear an FvS U39 ?

I admit that my AoV FvS gets splat on Ravenloft R1s quite often with a bad streak of champions and DA. Regardless of the 1.7k hitpoints and 100AC, 126PRR + Ghostly.

It is a charisma build, so I have some cool stat gear from RL quests. Is there a way to still build for decent spell DCs on a newish FvS and still consistently survive r1 at least?

I am very interested in regular quest gear that accomplishes this, raid and crafting is too much with few hours a week to play. I consistently scroll displacement but it seems to help less these days.

Should I consider adding defense set into sentinent set instead of CHA? The risk is that DCs work even less reliably .

I have a wisdom and charisma based dc build in my sig where you can compare build and gear in case it gives you any ideas.

Are you having trouble with mobs or bosses?

With mobs implosion, energy burst, divine wrath and cc are the best way to prevent damage on R1 so DC is the way I would go. Burst of Glacial Wrath, Cometfall SLA and greater command covers fort/reflex and will saves. Soundburst against reapers.I focus on evocation and so my burst of glacial wrath get most things. And of course burst creates helplessness so it boosts your energy burst and on R1 it is a killer spell. Death to Undeath for undead mobs.

If bosses are the issue is it magic or physical damage that is killing you or both? For physical damage it's all about hp and prr. For magic damage it's mostly reflex save and MRR.

Swapping to a shield for boss fights is one option. Swap gear for reflex, mrr, prr can help there. The crab in the new quest hits really hard, so a set of swap gear for JUST that fight isn't a crazy idea if that is where you are having trouble. The crab is tougher on R1 than most bosses are on R3-4.

Displacement clickies can also help if you can find a few people to farm heroic shroud with you.

Another option is try out divine crusader for the passive dps and healing. For some people it just works better with their playstyle than exalted angel. On R1 it's arguably better than exalted angel if you can get your DC high enough without the bonus DC from EA.
