Does anyone know how many Cosmetic Item Dohickeys each broken down Cosmetic Item generates? Aelonwy refuses to tell me!

She takes cosmetics earned from Daily Dice and turns them into Glamerdust, which can then be turned into other cosmetic equipment. So, say you've had your eye on a Thinking Cap but every time you get the Jackpot on Daily Dice it's not that, you can turn a few different cosmetics into the one you want. Essentially, this is a way to open up the cosmetics found in Daily Dice so it's not completely impossible to get the style that you're looking for.
I applaud the initiative, and the desire to help make players happy, but I am curious as to how big a problem this is. I've hit the jackpot on daily dice maybe 4 times out of many many many many MANY rolls, but never had a cosmetic out of it. How long would it take to turn a "few different" ones into the one you want? Or am I just incredibly unlucky and most people have been pulling cosmetics regularly from daily dice?

    Thank you!

(Also, Thank you to Aelonwy Marcubrae who also sent me a Private Message with the answer.)

Based on recent reports of Gold Daily Dice rolls, a roll from 96 to 100 always rewards an Experience Gem, some random item, and a Cosmetic Item. This payout scheme was instituted relatively recently, within the last few months.

One year of Premium status allows 52 Gold Daily Dice rolls. In that time, a roll of 96-100 will occur 2.6 times, on average. At that rate, it will take about a year and a half for a player with Premium status to make one Cosmetic Item using this new system.

However, as Psychoblonde pointed out in another thread, a player may purchase Pirate Hats(?) from the Game Store for 150(?) DDO Points and convert them into Glammerdust. Therefore, a player may make any of the items offered by Aelonwy Maelodic for 600 to 900 DDO Points. This allows every player to access all the Cosmetic Items available from Gold Daily Dice on demand and without Premium Status.

In my opinion, the new system is fair and functions well enough. Hopefully, future updates will bring additions to Aelonwy Maelodic's inventory.

I plan on updating Lamania tonight so I can take screen shots of all the available Cosmetic Items and post them to the DDO Wiki. With luck that will encourage more purchases, justify the addition of this feature, and fuel the development of more Cosmetic Items.

Small correction, Psychoblonde suggested Cosmetic Top Hats priced at 150 TP each. I have no idea if Pirate Hats are accepted by the new vendor and I suggest not trying that on Live servers. However, I have succumbed to purchasing Top Hats on live to get the three cosmetics I wanted most, so I know that at this particular moment that works.

I took some images of Dark Whorl and Crimson Bull (all but what was already in the DDO store). I'll post those up when I get a chance if you haven't already gotten to them.

I am very disheartened that I can buy a cosmetic for 300ish points and buy a cosmetic for 900ish points and both only give 10 dust. So, either the crimson wave/verdant wave are supposed to only be worn by super-duper-hyper-lucky people with gold rolls or people with a whoooooole lot of money to burn on DDOpoints. I really don't like this at all.

Try buying 4 to 6 Top Hats @150 pts each, still not cheap but not nearly as sticker-shock. I think it really was meant just for VIP Gold DD users that were super lucky to win cosmetics but received a cosmetic they didn't care for and wouldn't have kept otherwise.

I'm hoping Top Hats stick around as a way to purchase the cosmetics we want from the cosmetic vendor but I doubt it somehow. More simply I wish they would just put all the cosmetics in the store so I can just outright buy points and purchase what I want when I want.

Hmmm not a bad idea. 60 dust...150 DDOpoints for 10....actually about the same cost as the phoenix robe cosmetic. SSG 'gets their ddopoints' and I get my shiny cosmetic. Still rather odd, though. Now that I think about it, I do have 2-3 old DDOstore cosmetic armors that I no longer use.

We just need to convince them to make our cosmetic wardrobe to store all the cosmetics in and we can be happy. :3

So why can't we turn in cosmetic docents bought via the store? I had a couple cosmetic docents that I never wore, anymore, and they won't work at the vendor. The other armors work, but why not docents?

Because the devs hate warforged! That's why they still can't wear the reaper armor that will soon come in 3 different colors.

You are really gonna like Update 40 - Warforged will be able to wear the new AND old cosmetics, and they'll update in place to let people use their current copies

PS - I sourced the list for the NPC from the Daily Dice tables to determine what to let people melt, and the Daily Dice tables don't actually contain any Docents. Doesn't mean that she won't be able to take cosmetic docents in the future, it just makes it really complicated to determine what's actually in circulation

That answer just begs the amount to be changed to 42.

I don't suppose you could poke someone and "suggest" they make all new cosmetic armors work like that from the start?

New cosmetics have worked like that since we got Ravenloft.

The ones we got from the anniversary didn't.

I think the only other new cosmetics we've gotten are the ones from white plume. Not really enough to establish a pattern one way or the other yet.
