Default Reaper mode should be enforcing team play

Reading dozens of threads about problems with class/role balances and changes concerning reaper, a question came up in my mind:

<< Why is it even possible to enter Reaper mode solo, when it was originally supposed to encourage players work together as a team? >>

Many ppl already rather solo R1-3 than Elite, thanks to reaper enhancements and free SP souls.

There should be a required minimum party size for Reaper mode (increasing by skulls?), including reaper xp only given out to everyone if all characters who entered were inside at the moment of finishing. Obviously, some players would just log some alt or friend's account to keep soloing, but I believe such change would definitely increase the number of LFMs.
And let those that lack reaper points catch up faster with the help of veterans.

I also had some thoughts about changing reaper enhancements so that spending in a tree locks out the other two. This means less points per rxp, and in exchange, the bonus hp from spending points should be increased.
A character with 25-30+ points getting boost to both defenses AND spell/tactical DCs at the same time? These should be provided by differently specced active players working together. And this would encourage making more active healers and CC casters, because dps would definitely need them, for reaper mode at least...

People who play reaper should be forced to wear chastity belts and gimp masks.

As the quote you made says "encouraged" rather than "enforced" the entire premise of your post is flawed.

Reaper mode definitely encourages team play but thank the gods without enforcing it.

Reaper mode should be encouraging team play - GOOD! This is a good thought. And in a lot of ways, Reaper mode is already encouraging team play.

Reaper mode should be enforcing team play - BAD! This is not good.

Play the game the way you want to play it. Keeping the game fun in solo mode and in multiplayer mode is good because not everyone is able to play the same way as each other. And that's okay.
No one in the world ever gets what they want
    And that is beautiful
    Everybody dies frustrated and sad
    And that is beautiful

Because SSG marketed reaper to us as one thing when it is in fact something completely different. And to this day they can't seem to get their story straight about what it is.

On the one hand, they want to claim it's a challenge difficulty, for the sake of getting us fired up about the cool new thing, and also using that as an excuse to add some dumb house rules and not support a certain playstyle about which they've suddenly developed a phobia.

On the other hand, they want everyone in there, working on the new grind and so the entry level was set so low as to be almost indistinguishable from elite. Their shoddy implementation actually made it easier than elite for some playstyles, and now they are talking about making it easier again in epic levels with the ill-advised HP buffs.

Someone at SSG seems to be making a point of trying to believe one or more impossible things before breakfast. The problems with this start when they try to get the rest of us to believe that nonsense too and then make bad changes to the game as well.

    Thanks.

I don't remember Reaper being introduced to encourage team play. I do remember it being introduced to provide additional challenge. If people choose to group up to overcome that challenge, that's entirely up to them.

1 it was about challenge and it mostly failed at that.

2 it has improved groupings. it requires the group to work as a group. if the group does not move as a team it is a wipe at high skull level. even though it has encouraged group play the problem is it is in friends list not a LFM.. i rarely pug r4 or higher because frankly play styles don't mesh well together and most people are ill prepared for the challenge ahead. Think of the days of link your DR before we let you join my party.

3 no to forcing grouping i would roll up a couple alt accounts if it went to that.

4 so if the other trees are locked out my 6 toons are either done or close to done doing reaper trees. so no point in playing the game higher than R1 in heroics because its about the 1-20 xp for the racial grind. no advancement so i'll play for the conversation now. sorry pugs done forever because you dont talk. lfms were there only to have a 1 in a thousand chance i might find someone to have a conversation with.

    5. reaper limits you to 2-3 level range base level is a 10 elite is a 12 so group LFM is a 9-10 or a 8-10 it eliminates all those doing the BB playing. in epics playing to get full xp on a N/H/E is any level in epics. heck we play reaper 4-5 RL quests with 1 or 2 people doing epic TRs 2-3 people at 30 2-4 people some where in epics some even level 20.

6 this is another merge servers post in my mind because it is about lack of LFMs lack of people to play with.
