Default Which bank toon has that item again???? [inventory viewable from character selection]

Could we get an inventory screen (with auction-house style sorting and searching) at character selection that would let us see our "overall" inventory server-wide?

Accessing it could be an account upgrade via the store.

    UDR Loot Rules:
    1) No griefing people for pulling loot that dropped in their name
    2) When rolling, classes for which the item is "useful" get +10 to the roll
example: Wiz and Barb both roll on a Torc, the barb saying "I'm TRing into an arcane next week"
Wiz gets +10 on his roll

Its been asked for ..for years.., and still ignored..

Any chance of adding a independent storage system that allows us to consolidate, search, sort, filter and manage inventory..
Basically a private Auction House only accessible by toons on my account.

Introduce something like basic player housing.. simple ship crew quarters on a generic harbor ship with access to/from guild ships..
an account based private room that has a independent magical storage locker with an AH interface capable of holding 1,000+ items and DDO store add-ons to expand exponentially.
it also leaves the option open to future private housing additions to expand on..

This way instead of storing scrap in the already maxxed out shared bank, personal bank, bag deposit box, 40ish alt mules, alt account mules, mule TR caches, alt guildships, hundreds of bags, quivers, and whatever other methods I can cram stuff..
we could store everything not readily needed into one simple consolidated centralized storage location.. just like the AH.. only private and only accessible by my account.

The AH interface already ha subcategories, search, sort filter options and many of the management tools we want to be able to effectively manage collected goodies...

This would also allow players to effectively shift inventory before doing a TR and not subject the TR process system to transitioning hundreds of unneeded items to the TR cache that could have been put into the private storage locker.

The centralize storage medium would also allow players to better organize and manage our stuff.

Inventory management is another lacking area of development as seen by all our haphazard storage mediums and lackluster interface tools..

They have the capability to give a decent interface as shown by the Auction House interface, they just choose not to implement that frontend onto the player storage systems..
Instead we get a different variation of storage with a different neutered interface and poor sorting/filtering systems.

    Auction house -
    ~has categories
    ~has sub categories
~ has search sort filter options
    ~has level range filter options
    ~has large capacity
~would make a great base template for all the storage interfaces.

    Shared bank -
~a page tab system that puts the item deposited and puts it in the last slot of the last page that has to be manually flipped through to get at.. waste of [explative] time and mouse clicks.
meanwhile the oldest stuff sitting in the shared deposit bag is the first thing we load and see every time we open the bank.
~a simplistic search/filter tool was eventually added
currently caps at 220 slots. with combinations of base, favor, store purchases, expansion purchases.

    Bag deposit box -
~The bag deposit box is supposed to be the destination for all the characters items on an account.. not a transfer point to move stuff to a packmules bag..
~Bags hold bigger stacks than the bag deposit box so you end up with multiple stacks in the bag deposit box that would be 1 stack in a bag...
~Once you exceed 1,000 items(stacks) you can no longer see how big the storage level is since the text is pushed out of the viewable range of the display box
~Storage stack sizes are based on inventory stack sizes resulting in multiple messy stacks of items.. creating a cluster[expletive]
~poor sort/filter system.. has the same simplistic search as the shared bank and item descriptions are poorly implemented to be useful in this filtering system.
~similar issues to shared bank.. only 10x the tabs to manually click through to get to the end.
~Bag deposit box should have 10x the stack size of the biggest possible bag stack before rolling into another stack...
~ and way better search/sort/filter interface tools.. I should be able to filter items by pack.. shroud, ravenolft, slavers, s/s/s by pack... etc....

    Bags.
    ~basic simplistic search.
~collectible bag has subcategories.. other bags don't.
~bag sizes are inconsistent.. probably by design to force players to store buy bags.. looking at you augment bag and the dev choice to add filigrees to the augment bag with its inferior capacity.

    Hireling Folders..
WT[expletive]... small one can only carry 2 different hirelings..

    Cosmetic Storage..
there isn't any.. and many cosmetics are BTC ..

    TR Cache..
    nuff said..

    Guild chests..
Storage amenity with 3 upgrades to place multiple small chests with poor capacity/search/sort/filtering..
have to go through each chest individually and manually search. and remember where the amenity is placed on the boat..

    Cargo hold storage chest
there is a small and large storage chest.. butt even then... meh.. limited small capacity..
Cant fill the cargo hold with multiple storage chests(its the same chest).. can do multiple test dummies...

What I would like to see is a large capacity storage medium with a good management interface..
Basically a personalized account based Auction house with exceptionally large capacity and all the management tools to search/sort/filter items..
A true centralized storage area accessible by all my toons across my account where I can store all my items including all the TR cache items into a pooled vault storage location.
That I can then serach sort filter by a plethora of options.. like the AH interface provides...

I don't want a dozen different storage systems.. I already have [expletive] scattered all over the place across 40 alts and 3 personal guildships and 4 alt accounts.

a large storage medium with an AH interface that lets me put all my stuff from my character/account into a personal vault where I can consolidate all my pack mule loot into one place with sort/search/filter
I want to be able to take everything from inventory/bank/shared bank/bag deposit box/bags/quivers/cosmetics/augments/collectibles/shards/seals/scrolls/consumables/personal guildships/..

all my stuff... and put it into a private AH template storage system (like the Astral Shard AH that takes bound stuff as well)..

Where is our option to buy the one stop storage location.

    1. Gnome Storage Vaults
An instance location where we can go and access/purchase large storage containers.
a long term storage facility not accessible by the regular banking system so as to not bog down/clutter the regular daily banking interface like the TR cache does.
add some sort/search functions, filter buckets, etc.. could use something like the AH interface as a template
Relocate all future TR caches from the bank interface to a AH style vault interface.

Even here back in 2008 storage was a recognized issue...
years later we did eventually get a guild chest amenity.. nowhere near the storage we were looking for even back then.. but I guess it was better than nothing...

It would allow members to be able to pool inventory that is no longer used or of no use and trade or share with other Guild members (who hasn't had a cool item drop that does not fit their Toon build.)

I often spend a lot of time going through my items and asking Members .. hey do you have... or do you want....
An area where stuff could be posted for trade or share would be an awsome addition to the game.

a great mock up of how a good bank interface would look

The really sad part is that they actually think it's good. Anyone remember when the devs happily and proudly announced that they were switching the character bank interface into the same style interface as the shared bank? They were met with such shock and horror by the community that they promptly said "never mind, we won't change it" and then never uttered a single word about it again.

Here's the AH interface mockup I threw together a couple years ago, still wishing we could have something like it:

    Yes, please.

    But...

like JOTMON suggest: that will never happen. Too much work, with almost no reward in cash for them. All hope are in Lynnabel - but her fire will be weeker each update. We should be happy, thst she at least update old item in game - that should bring more new players to the game.

We once had that, it showed your doll's carried items on log out.
It was removed due to abuse by raid-leaders who used it to look up your toon before allowing you into their PUG (at the time, The Shroud) based on if you had the proper items or not. Which further the gap between the haves and haves not.
And if I recall correctly due to performance issues.

I've been asking for better filters in the shared bank and crafting bank. If that, comparatively simpler, has fallen on deaf ears, I imagine that a proposal like this has no chance.

We can dream, but I would say that more filters have more possibilities if is asked by more people

Making 1 character's inventory, and/or the entire account's collective inventory (on that one Server), viewable using the building blocks of the AH would be a HUGE QoL boost.

    Would be...

That means "load all the data for every character during log-in". NO !
You will be the 1st to drop the game due to the lag it cause if that would be implemented. If you want leave the game that much, just leave and don't ruin the game for everyone else.

Yep, some endgame peeps trolled the raid leaders by switching to a korthos set.... Good times.

    As for this thread:

    Dev meeting:
    1) why are they complaining now?
    2) something about storage
    3) is it that jotman fellow again?
    2) yes
    1) can't we perma ban him?
    2) we can't, his canadian politeness shields him from getting triggered into breaking the guidelinnes.
    1) sigh, we gave them sentient jewels, their banks should be empty by now..
    3) you're right, the problem should go away soon, what about a game of real life pac-man?
    1) yeay!
    2) yeay!

Another easy solution to the problem would be a chat command like "/inventory dump MyCharacterName.txt" that would create a text file with all the items in a character's inventory/bank/shared bank/crafting storage/TR cache in some consistent format. User apps could then take that and utilize it however they want.

    - No server load with browsers or apps asking the servers repeatedly about stuff.
    - Similar functionality to already existing command "/ui layout save name"
    - Not requesting data that the server hasn't already sent to you (when you view your bank/inventory)
    - Not sharing any data with other users for abuse purposes
My main server is Khyber. Have toons in almost every server for favor purposes. The Faltouts
