    Default Skill Retrainer

    Hi all,

    There is a feat retrainer,
    There is an enhancement retrainer,
    There is a spell retrainer,

    why not a skill retrainer?

I would suggest similar mechanics and cost as with Fred. Timer could be even the same.

I would suggest that u can pay to fully untrain in 1 skill each time. Then use the points as you wish under the normal restrictions.
In case u have a feat/ability that has that skill as a prerequisite then the reset is down to prerequisites.

It's a neat idea, but I'm not sure if the game tracks how many points you've spent on a skill or just what your rank in it is.

Say you take rogue at level 1 to get access to disable device and open lock. You spend 4 points in those skills and get 4 ranks.
Then you take a level of wizard at level 2. You spend 2 points to get 1 additional rank.

The same thing is also true of all other cross-class skills you've trained. Would the game know to refund you 22 points for retraining Swim, or would it just see that your rank is 11 and give you 11 points back?

If the game tracks the points it should be doable, if it doesn't you'd lose skill points every time you retrain a skill that's not core to your class.

I think Sunnie has the right of it (again!), thus the existence of the +0 Heart of Wood.

Normally, it should keep track what u spend at each level. If it doesn't then it should be significantly more expensive and offer a full re-spec of all skills. That would solve the do not remember problem.

Well Heart of Wood +0 re-specs everything. Not exactly the same thing.

But lets assume that the purpose of HoW+0 is to re-spec skills then there should be a timer for getting one with pp and or collectible item.
Maybe, simpler solution would be that Fred offers two different respec's (1) feat as is, (2) a much more expensive and less recurring full re-spec as a HoW+0.
