So, shillelagh works on wooden shields?
Anyone thought of doing a weird druid/vanguard shield build (you'd have to do an elemental form obviously). You could do druid/bard/fighter, even, and use Van Richten's Legendary Cane--it's densewood.

Legendary Best Defense is densewood as well - and it does far more damage.
However, Vanguard is heavily rear-loaded. It doesn't really pay off until the later cores - including the capstone.
For Bard, the impact of Shillelagh is relatively minor. It will end up being +10 damage on perhaps 10% of your damage (the damage from shield bashing). While it's possible there's a wooden Finessable weapon I'm overlooking, none of the top-end Swashbuckling weapons are wood.
I'd actually be more enthused about Prey on the Weak from Nature's Warrior, but that's a lot of AP for a Bard - who probably can't spare the AP.
surely tooth pick is made of wood?
with daggers and vistani mixed in I am guessing that would not leave enough AP... ?
