I posted over in the artificer subforum, asking if there's some way to remove, move, or make more transparent the symbols that appear when charging one's runearm. From the lack of answers with over a 100 views I take it there is no way to do that currently.
So...
The Problem: The symbols can be quite distracting. They're located in the center of the screen, they're fairly large, they're glowing, when charged they're largely non-transparent, the charge can increase or decrease depending on whether you move or stand still. There's constantly something going on while the runearm is charging which makes it harder to concentrate on other things going on in the game.
My proposed solution: Implement an alternative that is less obtrusive and which players can choose to toggle on if they like. If they like the runearm UI as it is they can keep it that way, too. Options for the alternative include adding a third bar to the character portrait (like a monk's ki bar), adding an element like the map or examination box or objectives list which players can place where they want, or simply repositioning the symbols off to the right or left side of the screen in a vertical row and possibly resizing them a little.
I'm not particular about how the alternative mode would look as long as it's less obtrusive, I'm sure some way can be found that keeps coding to acceptable levels. Personally, I would even be fine with being able to make the symbols 100% transparent and playing the runearm by ear.
