Epic box description in Store says xp only applies to level cap of 28....is this a screwup? Something that hasn't been updated in the description, or in the game?

In other words, if I buy an Epic Otto Box for my Level 28, will it help get her to Level 30 or not?

Epic Otto's Boxes work all the way up through 30 with no issue.

That particular text is just a bit of a leftover from when level 28 was cap that got missed during the conversion.

I'll get this fixed for the next time we update the store!

I'm sure that is just a holdover from back when they introduced Epic Otto's Boxes and the level cap was 28. All the XP stone will do is add to your XP total whatever it is until you hit the level cap.

The real question is why would you want to get stoned at lvl 28? Seems like a waste of XP as the stone will grant far more XP than needed, especially if you have any tomes, pots or other XP boosters going. To get from 28-30 the Stormhorns chain should do it or run a few dailies for a week. Then ETR and use the stone to get yourself back to 24 or so with an Epic past life.

Even if you are completely FTP there should be plenty of XP lying around so that the 28-30 grind isn't too bad.

signed- I never buy epic stones- just to expensive in relation to effect- means only 1/4 past life- a heroic stone is nearly a full past life with pots, vip bonus, voice and guild bonus.

Count me in on this too, the 2mm epic exp is just soooo much easier to get than 2mm Heroic. Not worth it even at half the price of a heroic box

It would be insane to use an Otto box on a level 28 character though.

Agreed. I NEVER buy Epic stones, although I have bought heroic stones now and then.

I'd be more in favor of bumping the EXP an Epic stone gives you from 2 million to 3 million.

I vote for 3 million as well. If you combine that with a full set of sagas and pots it would pretty much give a full epic life which would make it much more attractive.

with 2,000,000 XP grant the same as heroic, the Epic Ottos Stone felt less epic and more or less normal;
or perhaps they should rename the Epic Ottos Box as Legendary Ottos Box to give 4M XP instead?

For heroic, 2mm exp is 53% of the way to level cap on a 3rd life (without running any pots or bonuses)

53% of the exp to cap epic is 4,372,500 exp. (Before bonuses). I'd argue the epic stone should be worth at least 4mm exp to equalize the value relative to a heroic stone.

Honestly . . .

The stones are currently somewhat annoying to use, and I don't see the value in just annoying people for the heck of it when it's pretty clear what people WANT when they buy a stone: They want to cap their dang character faster.

So, here's a suggestion:

Heroic Box:

Stone of Experience. Levels you instantly to 20 if you are below level 20.
Your Choice of Heroic Reincarnation heart (Blood/Wood)
Heroic reincarnation timer reset.

Epic Box:

Stone of Epic Experience: Levels you instantly to 30 if you are at least level 20 and below level 30. Caps your currently selected epic destiny and epic destiny sphere karma.
Your choice of Epic Reincarnation heart (Iconic/Epic)
Epic/Iconic reincarnation timer reset.

Heck, leave the Otto's boxes alone and make these a new type of box that's only available once a year on special. Dandy. I bet people would buy them even though they don't have all the xp pots and cakes and other silly stuff.
