    Default Where to begin?

    Hey folks,

It's been a very long time since I've found my way here and I'm just at a loss as to where to start. I played pretty hard core since game launch until around 2015 then I fell off a bit and it's been so long I don't even know where to begin. Any tips, welcomes, cheers, jeers accepted.

Fastest way to catch up to is accumulate reaper points - massive power creep compared to all else. Combining racial TR with reaper is a good way to go to work towards both.

I don't know if there's any good one size fits all advice. It would depend on what you'd already done when you left off and what you will be doing (and how much time you will be spending) in game when you come back.

If you want to sit at cap for a bit while you decide whether or not really to return, just regearing would make a very noticeable difference because of the large increases in gear power over the last three years. Doing that while you run the new content might be a fun way to get back into the game. But if you are hankering for an absurd grind to fill many empty hours in your life, then maybe getting onto the racial reincarnation train is for you.

The Ravenloft expansion has mostly good quests and some good gear, so if you don't mind buying that it could be a good place to start. Since there are heroic and epic quests (and two epic raids) it'll have some value whether you decide to get back into running heroics or plan to be at cap for a while. I think it can be bought from the store now, so if you have some points saved up it might not cost you anything more than that.

Anyway, welcome back and good luck with it.

    Thanks.

well, the power creep is really only there when doing reaper, out of reaper at best ya got reaper bonuses on gear, and the reaper cores. gear aside that makes it at best, with 123 reaper pts and lvl 30... (41 per tree to get all cores)
    +1 CON, +120 HP, +2 saves, +1 dodge, +1 dodge cap, +3 PRR/MRR (from grim barricade)
+1 STR or DEX, +3 tohit and damage, +3 melee and ranged power (from dread adversary)
+1 CHA or WIS or INT, +500 Spell point, +6 universal spell power (from Dire thaumaturge)

but yeah, being IN reaper significanlty boost your stats, otherwise I would say the Ravenloft expansion is currently the best source of middle heroic and lvl 29-30 gear. investing in cannith crafting will help cover holes in your gear, but ya need to break down alot of items, and collect every collectable you come across.

Thank you for the replies so far. I think to start I may ease back into things and maybe do a heroic TR to get back in the swing of just playing again. Not sure at this point I'd be able to keep up like I did before, so I may just be a chill casual player coming back.
