Default Rogue build for TR grind...

Looking for suggestions for doing rogue lives during my TR grind. I'm VIP, everything unlocked, have ground out/traded/purchased +6 tomes for each stat. 3x lives already completed for Barb, Fighter, Pally, Cleric, FVS, Sorc, Bard and Ranger. (I tend to run the same build three times in row for each class, learning the ropes and collecting gear the first time, busting heads the next two.) Rogue is up next, but I haven't looked into any Rogue builds yet. I have roughly one metric buttload of rapiers in my inventory from the last 6 lives (Bard x3, TWF melee Ranger x3), other gear is fair with a lot of Cannith crafted to fill in gaps. Play style is usually melee-focused, but I'm willing to try some sneaky-sneak as a rogue.

Thoughts? Point me toward your favorite builds, help a brutha out...

TWFing VKF assassin. Get Sheridan's Wrack from CO6 before you TR (I recommend two of them) and by lvl 8 you will be Jack the Ripper on cocaine. You won't need to worry too much about stealth unless you want the flavor, as you will be murdering anything in your path, getting traps, and benefit from the rogue runspeed boost in TA.

Thanks for the suggestion -- will start fleshing out the build and see what I can come up with! Much appreciated

I did the same to hit triple completionist and was trying 1 each tree/capstone/style which was harder to make cause did almost everything before the enhancement pass xD

I would try 1 mechanic (pure, 18 rogue/2 arti or some endless fusilade abusing build) 1 acrobat(pure or 18 rogue/2 monk) and 1 assassin (pure would be nicest, dex based would be cheaper on enhancements cost)

Rapiers are nice, indeed but the dagger potential of the rogue (now extra with vistani) is nothing to sneeze at, just remember to grab improved feint and boost your bluff skill for some dumb insane dps
psykopeta is finally baconpletionist because there isn't anything to delay it more - thelanis, where the gimps claim to be pros and noobs claim to be pros, no newbies allowed(unless they claim to be pros), we have enough drama w/o them. PS: I post only in the latest thread shown in main page, in the weird case u want something from me, feel free to send pm

I would splash monk for a heroic melee assassin. Here is why:
    1) you are not an assassin until level 12. Until then, you are a squishy melee with poor attacks against undead etc. and no self healing
    2) faster sneaking stacks so you can boogy
    3) free feats

options are minimal monk 1/1 fighter/18 rogue and use vorpal of deception/crafted wraps until level 7 or 8 (then follow above advice) be uncenetered. Frozen tunic.
3 monk/1 fighter/16 rogue and go heavily with wraps until late level 16–switch to daggers/vistani. A bit weaker in late heroics but you blow through early stuff.

Another option is splashing 2 ranger early and take repeater stuff if you have a vorpal lowbie repeater. Then swap feats for melee right before level 9.

If you want a great challenge for stealth, click on links in my sig

Default Thanks for the continued suggestions!

I appreciate the additional suggestions/input. I'll be playing around with these ideas a bit, see what fits my play style and inventory

Default Could use another question answered...

So my wife sez I'm dumb but trainable. Hopefully that applies to this situation. I put together a VKF build in the planner, TR'd and started down the grindy path. However, when I went to start assigning enhancement points, the VKF tree doesn't show as available. (Yep, I checked the dropdowns in the tree selectors, etc. -- no love.) I had purchased the Ravenloft Ultimate bundle and thought that the VKF tree would thus be available to me right away -- no grinding Ravenloft favor, etc. Any suggestions? What am I missing?

Is there a right arrow on the right-hand side of your enhancement panel that you can click?

Wasn't going to update this as I was trying to hide my ignorance, but since you were kind enough to respond I'll admit my cotton-headed ninny-mugginsness. I had clicked the right arrow ONCE, but didn't go any further to the right -- which is where the VKF tree was hiding. See, like my wife said, dumb but trainable...
