Default DDO Launcher Windows 7 - Eroor the request could not be sent

Hi everyone, I am using a small laptop which definitely has enough space and the capacity to run ddo but for some reason, the launcher will give me an error message (the title). I have tried reinstalling DDO several times and I have also attempted to use admin access and privilages but nothing changes. I suspect it is something to do with the files but I can´t seem to find them anywhere online. This has been happening for about 3 weeks =P.

If anyone knows the solution to this problem, please tell me. Thanks! =)

A screen shot of the error would be very helpful, it sounds like your firewall might be the issue so try disabling it and then run DDO and see if it works. If it does then you need to tell your firewall to allow TurbineLauncher.exe and DnDClient.exe through for both incoming and out going connections.

As for the files take a look at DDO-Wrapper in my signature.

did you have DDo installed before on that laptop, have you been playing continuously or took a break and now wanted to try again? because in that scenario it might have something to do with the server move a while back and an old file some of us changed manually to connect to a specific address with DDo.

if it's a new install, I am thinking firewall settings, maybe?

anyhow, any more details you can provide would be helpful, and as stoner said, a screenshot would be awesome, because then we can see when exactly the error occurs and what exactly it says.

This is the first time I have tried to use ddo on this laptop. I also tried to deactivate my firewall settings but it still doesn´t work. I´ll redownload the launcher to take a screenshot.

I have taken a look at your ddo file installer and it seems really cool but, I think I might be missing some of the files that your installer doesn´t provide. =P.

Which files are you trying to open? For DDO-Wrapper use the file named DDO-Wrapper.exe but you must have all of the other files as well otherwise it won't install. As for DirectX and the C++ Redist yes run them and follow the on screen instructions. DirectX will unpack to a folder you specify once done go in to the folder and run the .exe file that is present.

Have you downloaded all the parts to your computer and not to your Google Drive? All the parts need to be on your machine for it to work and yes it is the full game no need for anything else, once it is installed will automaically patch/update and then allow you to log in as normal.

Almost everything is working perfectly. For some reason I get 2 ddo files even though I deactivated my avast for a bit. Also, an error came up = A decompression error has ocurred (#2029).

You need all 4 files in order to run it which is probably why you are getting the error.

Where would you recommend me to put the "Disks"? If I don´t put them anywhere, the decompression error comes up.

Check the MD5 hashes of the files you downloaded with something like HashTab or HashMyFiles and compare the ones you have to the ones listed in the first post. If they are not EXACTLY the same then the download of the files has gone wrong somewhere so download any/all affected parts. Once downloaded and the files match just run the .exe and follow the on screen instructions. The installer will transfer the files inside the archive and create the needed shortcut to run the game launcher.

Also turn off User Account Control if it is switched on.

I checked one of my wrappers and they had lowercase instead of uppercase. That means I have to redownload it? I´ll post another message once I´ve checked all the files.

No you need to check the MD5 hashes of the files...
