Default Wow... It just now Dawned on me (pun intended)

It only just now dawned on me why the Morninglord Iconic hero is a sun elf. I always thought it was an odd choice, because although anyone can worship Lathander / Amaunator, he is generally a human deity.

But in the Barovian canon, the Morninglord is depicted as a sun elf, due to the way the cult was founded.

So if you play through the module as a Morninglord, its as if you are an avatar, or messianic figure for the Barovian version of the religion.

Well played DDO / SSG. Well played...

Had I thought about it before hand, I would have named mine Rathalan.

So is there unique dialogue options for Sun elf in RL? I wish someone at SSG had hinted at this when they originally made the sunelf iconic because everyone (myself included) was pointing out how Lathander was a human deity and just because they are called sun elves doesn't mean they worship the human deity with the sun symbol. No, even with the RL tie-in it still feels a little wrong. I think what just doesn't fit about it is the title Iconic. An Iconic sun elf is not a cleric, let alone an Iconic elf worshiping a human deity. Its just one of those ideas that leaves you scratching your head.

I'm thinking the decision to make the Morninglord iconic a Sun Elf in DDO was made LONG before Ravenloft was put on the Turbine/SSG drawing boards.

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

There is no unique dialogue options that I am aware. Its from the lore from the actual table-top campaign setting. In the actual setting, worshipers of the Morninglord in Barovia believe he looks like a Sun Elf. Maybe there is some kind of DM note in the module that references Sun Elf Player Characters. Its been a looong while since I played that setting in a table top game

A good place to check that out is this Ravenloft setting wiki:

Funny, when I first saw your thread I immediately looked up what you were talking about and so have already seen this site.

If there had been some unique dialogue in the expansion for sun elves that would have deserved some attention and kudos.
