DirectX 11 dware detected everytime I start the game up.

Hello everyone, looks like I'm having a software issue here where every time I start the game up,its as If I just installed the game and its running for the first time and reverts my graphic settings back to default and I get the pop up window telling me.

"DIRECTX hardware detected [135][134]" "We detect that this machine is capable of running in DirectX 11 Graphics mode would you like to enable DirectX11 Graphics? You can disable this in the Graphics Options whenever you'd like should you find any problems.[134]"

The Intro movie for the game starts on every launch also. This is a new one for me..


I have all the DX software installed 2010, 9C etc. I've run into the DirectX issues before on a DDO new install or reinstall and I have always fixed it by installing directx_Jun2010_redist and or dxwebsetup. This is something new. I actually work in IT but I'm not a software guru lol

All my drivers are up to date, and my windows 10 is running the very latest version. This machine is a beast which I built myself with the latest high-end hardware. I'm hoping someone can come give me a hand and I appreciate any help I can get .

windows protected folder access? Maybe game cant update the ini files to record its been run once?

That was going to be my suggestion. OP, maybe also try moving your DDO installation folder out of Program Files (x86) or whatever into a folder that generally has less protection oversight, something like a self created D:/Games/DDO or whatever.

Make sure your userpreferences.ini file in your documents\dungeons and dragons online folder, is not set to read only.



^__ it should not be checked like the image above.

secondary: Run DDO as admin when you open it, should be able to write to any file it needs to, as long as it isn't set to read only.

oh.. also use the games quit function if you want the userpreference.ini to update esc -> quit - IT WILL NOT DO THIS IF YOU ALT+F4 or close via the X in the top corner.
