A sharn update is on page 2. I switched from a DC build to a damage build. I've filled in my gear for anyone curious. You could solo solo R10s with the damage available to sorcs now as well as meld. It has gotten much harder since I took a three year break from the game.

Am interested in answering any gear questions. This stuff has been whittled down over a while now. Sorc casting time and cooldowns are OP OP. Targeting weak saves is the best way to play a caster so I don't feel higher DCs are needed. Maybe in some scenarios...

Screenshots include YUGO but not remnant pot, EA angel form (+2 CHA), or the core for +2 CHA. The core must be toggled off or you pull lots of agro. There are some scenarios where you could turn it on but I don't bother.

Yes. The old set is numerically higher, more costly, yet more flexible.

Beacon of magic set gives a plus two artifact bonus to DCs. The slavers 5 piece gives a plus four artifact bonus to DCs. If they stacked I would consider the robes. The crit chance on those robes is quite nice. You can go bladeforged and utilize sorc Capstone to remove the healing amp penalty and get the crit chance... ...we may see that if they fix damage casting. That way you can get some prr from armor at the cost of a feat. I'm very interested in DPS casting. As it stands though... ... the usefulness of DCs is very very high, and sorc casting speed doubles down on this. Dragonborn also have a spell pen advantage. They're also dragons...

The recent buffs to ranged and melee damage in ravenloft, make me think that Caster damage is a bad idea. When melee and ranged we're only doing 10k DPS on a perfect toon, I felt that 4k Caster DPS was acceptable. Now that they're doing 15K to 20k I feel like DC's are really the only option. The new robes with 10% crit chance don't really compare with 100 melee power half the time you can keep boosting. And that's just the tip of the iceberg when you have crazy shuirken bleed dots, weapons with + 20 base damage, and various fun set bonuses for fort bypass, melee power, and defense.

Finally someone that knows how to build right. I love sorc but I prefer drow then dragonborn. I like to stack spell resists as high as I can.

Is 86 SR enough for high reaper?

I had some fun tips come in since I posted it. (Ty Asan!! and Mehhh)

1. Mass Frog works in a variety of places (e.x., Strahd) without a wisdom item. With a wisdom item I was hitting pillars in Baba to.
2. Legendary Ice via, Chain missile and magic missile does wonders in Strahd.
3. Asamir can get 10% HP from the Racial making it a great choice.

err...what? maybe you lack some perspective, there are newbies and less experience players with less time investment in gamming that have value un sorc casting time, but is far far far (can I say it again?) to be OP. I think reaper points are OP; try 10 skulls without them (as original intended) ; )

What kind of Wisdom are we talking about? I've been tempted to give Mass Frog a try on my Warlock, but I've been told that since Wis was a dump stat for me that I'd never land it. But I could easily see swapping it for Force Spellpower if it had any amount of actual utility. I've got a 20 Wis at cap with nothing invested. That could easily be 28 with a colorless +7 augment and a +1 Exceptional augment. And at max I guess I could swap in a +19 item with +2 Festive slotted, and slot +1 Exceptional somewhere else. So it's looking like a max 32 Wisdom.

I guess the best thing for me to do it to use Loikana/Fred to swap it out before I next TR and just see how it goes.

Change List:
1. Added Legendary Ice stick swap. Switch in Magic Missile and Chain Missile to make it proc
2. Related Spell Swaps
--> Suggestion for Chain missle
--> Lightning bolt for Sleet Storm (I use it in Strahd on stairs.)
--> Merfolks for Magic Missile
--> Crushing Despair for Charm Monster (To get a single target charm back.)
--> Eldar's for Break Enchant (Some area of effects are hard to get rid of with cyclonic blast)

3. Gear Swap
--> Added Dodge into reaper tree and dropped armour for Shadow Dragon Armor's unique DC bonus and Improved invis clicky. (Lets you open doors invis.)

4. AP Swap
--> Dropped the 2nd point of CHA from Eldritch Knight and some racial AP
--> Pick 1st rank of Sprint boost, and 1 CHA from Falconry

5. Race
--> Asamir atm---I'm taking the HP and healing hands like everyone else. Somehow Asamir also have spell pen. Beats me how they released a broken class like this. It's a dwarf's hp, a human's healing amp, and an elf's spell pen all rolled into 1.

I have not tested it, but I've heard that the proc rate is too low to make it useful. ymmv
