Default DDO store tomes and stats

    Hi.

I know I can increase all my stats by 2 with
special tomes I buy on DDO store.

So at level one I get +2 to all stats with those tomes. Or maybe I get +1
to all stats with the tome at level 1, and another +1 to all stats with another tome at
    level 2.

I forget. Only did it once.

But after that + 2 to all stats, do I buy
a tome of + 7 to all stats, and I get those stats spread
out at different levels until I turn 20 ?

Can I just buy 1 tome of + 7 to all stats ?

And there are 2 types of + 7 books. Which should I use ? One is +7, the other is +6 to +7.

And do I have to buy the plus 6, plus 5, plus 4 tomes (etc) prior to buying
    the plus 7.

Some clear and elaborated answers would be
    greatly, GREATLY, appreciated.

    Thanks a lot guys.

Ability tomes grant inherent bonus to an ability. Multiple tomes don't stack, only the highest applies.

Then there's a restriction, characters don't receive full benefit of higher + tomes immediately at level 1. Even if you had a +7 tome consumed, at level 1, your stats only increase by two. As your character level increases, this effective cap on inherent bonuses to ability scores is decreased.

Upgrade tomes require that your character already has a lower bonus tome eaten. If you have already consumed a +2 tome, you can purchase a +2 to +3 upgrade tome, which is a bit cheaper than straight +3 tome.

Now, if you have a new character without tomes, and you want to dish out some money, your best choice is to decide, how high bonus do you need or can you afford. And then buy a supreme tome (DDO Store only, increases all stats, cheaper than purchasing tomes separately). Buy a full tome, not the upgrade version. If you only care about one ability score, consider a single tome purchase, and then slowly fill in the other stats via gameplay.

You can also perfectly play without tomes. Though more is obviously better.

The upgrade tomes basically give you a trade in value for tomes you've already eaten. If you want to raise the stats by more than one point it's always better to get the pure tome.

They give Gamestop levels of trade-in value.

If you the max level tome in the store is +7 and you already have a +6, then you might as well get the upgrade tome instead of the standard tome, but it's only a VERY small savings. I'm kind of disappointed in Turbine with that.
No one in the world ever gets what they want
    And that is beautiful
    Everybody dies frustrated and sad
    And that is beautiful
