Hi. Am totally new to the game. What use are the expansions ? Mists of Raveloft, shadowfell conspiracy, menace of the underdark.

Do I have to buy them from the DDO Market ?

And are those expansions only after a certain level ?

I bought Shadowfell Conspiracy. I tried entering the code, but it did not work.

The expansions all have different quest levels, so you won't be able to access any of them immediately after creating a level 1 character. Ravenloft is the lowest level expansion, having a version of quests starting at level 10 and a higher level version (31+). This doesn't mean you have to be level 10 to run those quests, just that the quest is of that level. Level 10 quests can be run at level 10. Unfortunately the Shadowfell expansion requires higher levels in order to play the content. The Wheloon questline in that expansion is level 16, which can be run when your characters are 12. The Menace of the Underdark expansion is an epic level questline so you will need to be level 20 before you can run those. I have been playing DDO for a while and I have some bias as to how the expansions are (I love them all).

As for the Shadowfell code, where did you try entering the code? A while ago there was a separate website to enter them, but now you enter them in the DDO store within the game.

Shadowfell Conspiracy and MotU both must be purchased in the DDO Market. Ravenloft can be purchased in the DDO Market, but it differs from the prior two expansions in that you can also purchase the adventure pack using DDO Points.

And are those expansions only after a certain level ?

Each expansion has both heroic and epic level content. To see exactly what quest/challenge levels each provides, as well as the details of the various bundles offered, you should refer to the detail in the DDO Market, or look on the wiki:

Think of expansions as really, really REALLY big adventure packs. Adventure packs cover a smaller game 'area'. Sharn Sydicate is X number of quests within the marketplace. The Necro's take place in the graveyard, 3 barrel cove takes you to an island etc..... Expansions give you a much larger area outside of the normal Stromreach area to play in. They also visit different D&D area's that the player base has been asking for for a long time.

I purchased the Mists of Ravenloft expansion ingame using store points. I didn't receive a product key in the email. Or not one that can be used in the "redeem" section of the DDO store.

How do I activate the expansion? Thanks

It should've been applied directly to your account when you bought it. If you find it still won't let you into Ravenloft, contact DDO support.

I think I figured it out. I didn't know you entered Ravenloft in House Jorasco.
