Tiefling is probably the next race we are going to see. And seems most logical after the inclusion of aasimar.
Duergar iconic would also be nice, since we already have drow and svirfneblin.

I would like Tiefling, I want to make my spellsinger a Malicia-inspired enchantress. Depending on the cosmetic options of Tiefling, I might also make my warlock more RP thematic.
Enchantress on the far right, possible Warlock flavor ...eh 2nd from the left.

Bladeling
I recall hearing a joke about a Bladeling prostitute being placed in a campaign as a mechanic to help deter a pervy player from being so pervy as the first time I ever heard about Bladelings, do you really think DDO could pull Bladelings off Aesthetically as they seem like they'd be quite difficult in that regard.
I think most people are in the same boat as you there.
The only two points of adding more races is to expand on build possibilities within reasonable limitations and to expand upon the extent where players can identify with the character they are playing.
For my wife that either means half-vampire or Tabaxi
For me, that means a race that can use intelligence modifier for hit and damage so that I can just get all of my racial past lives and build better through not needing to spend points in the harper tree to get that intelligence to hit and damage benefit.
I would love to see Thri-Kreen as takes me back to Dark Sun. Honestly no idea how or if they fit into Eberron setting. I also like Tieflings but not completely sold on how they look in DDO animation wise.
One race (even as NPC) I would like to see that probably has next to no chance are Draconians from Dragon Lance.
Some sort of Iconic Dwarf could also be potentially interesting.

Selvera: Aasimar Fighter 20/Epic 10; Old and wise fighter.
Jen: Half Elf Fvs 4; Healer Archer on a TR with friends
Mayve: Drow Bard 14/Wizard 6/Epic 7; Vampire Enchantress
I'm not really feeling the need for another race just now, nor are any of the proposed options profoundly appealing. I especially do not want to Kobolds. It's bad enough that the devs took them for their mascot and reuse them mercilessly (sorry, just tired of the whole Kobold thing) without the players piling on the bandwagon.
I'd rather see the earning and/or buying of dances becoming a possibility. That would require a fair bit of work on the devs part I imagine; however, if done well and marketed correctly to the players could bring in a pile of cash I'd think. That would make the game far more fun than having to drudge through more lives with the same character to get a +3 bonus to my knitting skill or whatever.
My vote would go to Thri-Kreen, and here's why.
1 - Do we really need yet another biped? 2 arms, 2 legs... It's getting boring, and it's racist!
2 - They can make the stats whatever they want and add the Thri-Kreen abilities to the racial tree. (ie + to jump, ac, natural camoflauge, etc)
3 - Imagine the pita it'd be to flesh out feats... Want to fight well with 4 rapiers? Twf (x2), iTwf (x2), etc.
4 - I love my monk main. I love each of my alts that have even the tiniest of monk splash. I want to play a Thri-Kreen monk! (Talk about OP, I know, but just imagine....)
My second vote would be for Yuan-Ti, for most of the same reasons listed above, with emphasis on #1.

It is that time of the year, when the long dead threads come back to life… All hail the necro-posting galore !
Anyway, while new characters' models are refreshing, DDO needs no new races. Races gives little to nothing to the gameplay. New classes, on the other hand, will bring a great replayability.

Half-Giant.... nuff said
Also need to introduce Claids and Lances, as well as other traditional pole-arms such as awl-pikes, halberds, etc....
Need a specialized enhancement tree for the use of a Maine Gauche as a 2nd weapon that also acts as a shield. Should work with the recent Vis tree too. Small races shouldn't be able to use pole-arms...

Give me another race I can make fun of, running out of radical jokes, shorty, walking tin can, twinkle toes, pleasant, beer gut....
Hmm how is cockroach breath for lizards?
