Magic is a curious thing; full of hope and promise one minute, then someone summons a t-rex jet fighter to kill you.
This is a bit obvious... Kobolds.
I have a rather funny little kobold for DnD whom can't speak due to a physical disorder with his tongue, though he can still scream... He is very angry and grumpy all the time while running around in actual heavy gear and using great axe... It's just funny to me and I would love to remake him in DDO if I could.
I think I already posted on this thread. but anyway...
Kobold race and Kobold Shaman as Iconoic Socrerer.
Kobolds, but ONLY if they can take Dragonwrought and Wings feats.
Neogi
Unbodied (flying ghost brains from Expanded Psionics Handbook)
Thri-kreen
Mind flayers
Pseudodragons
Blues
Killoren
Aarakocra
Game already has more than enough races / classes and instead should focus on improving the existing content. Seriously, between the lag, the bugs and the load screen freezing the game needs a lot of love.
Lumi.
Lumi lumi lumi lumi lumi.
*hyperventilates*
Lumi.
Those are not pebbles surrounding the urn filled with Human teeth. They are megaliths!
I for one would like yuan-ti and minotaur play. But that's me. Dwarves could also use some TLC, Duergar, Sun and Shield Dawrf Line would be nice.
Yuan-Ti if I remember right, have +2 Con but take -2 to CHA. (I could be wrong however). and should have Poison / Stealth Enhancements.
I think for Shield Dwarves, it's +2 Con, -2 Cha. Plus the standard Dwarf Fare for Enhancements.
But then Sun Dwarves have something else, it's kinda funky. +1 Str, +1 Dex, -2 Cha. And they don't gain the typical Dwarven Weapons. I believe they get sword training instead.
But then I'm not sure on the Duergar, but I think those should be treated like Drow Elves. +2 Con, +2 Str, -2 Cha and 28 point build. Plus a few extras.
Also of note, Kobolds could be cool too. But I would have them focus for that race, +2 Dex and with enhancements could focus on stealth or spellcasting.
I'm also all for the Gensai, as well. But you put in elemental paths to do those right.
Force gets +2 Intellect and focus on Ranged and Untyped Spells
Energy gets +2 Intellect and focus on Melee and Untyped Spells
Life gets +2 Wisdom and focus on Melee and Positive Spells
Death gets +2 Wisdom and focus on Ranged and Negative Spells
Earth gets +2 Constitution and focus on Melee Attacks and Acid / Summon Spells
Fire gets +2 Strength and can focus on Ranged and Fire Spells
Water gets +2 Wisdom and can focus on Melee and Cold Spells
And Air gets +2 Dexterity and can focus on Ranged and Lightning / Air Spells
It's worth noting that from what I remember of this ruleset each type has bonuses for that particular
element. But takes double damage from the opposing element, except for force and energy. If I
remember right they get a DR Bonus against non-elemental attacks.
But the one race I have not seen here, is the Kalactar,
They get +2 Int. Focus is on Psychics with that race however. and there is Not a Psychic Class yet.
My two copper as usual.
Not much of a fan of the 5th edition, but as someone stated above, there was a Ton of Race/classes from 3/3.5 etc too which gives some epic totals out there. Although, I think alot of the "Race" would play on what expansion/settings DDO is allowed to pull from or use or might add.
For example, if one were say planning a Dragonlance Settings:
We could roll an "iconic Halfling" into a Kender and be less boring. I don't see the need for a regular kender and iconic, since they are basically halflings, but using it for iconic flare would be cooler that just a trash iconic halfling.
As far as my person favorite Races, I lean towards the Thri-Kreen being pretty cool suggestions from above, but I doubt the multi-arms would be implemented well.
Kobold seems easier and more fitting to current DDO, plus models/animations exist.
Same could be said for a Lizardfolk (although this dips too close to the dumpy dragonborn) and some other common humanoid monsters in the game already.
If they were just randomly trying to Iconic each class, then I could see:
Kobold Sorc
Lizardish Monk
etc.
