What can I do to improve Eldritch Blast?

I know that Impulse/Force Lore (or whatever I pick to replace that in the enhancement tree) is important.
I know that Corrosion/Acid Lore (or whatever I pick as my pact) is important.

I believe that Maximize/Empower don't do anything to the Eldritch Blast.

Is there anything else aside from Spell Power and [blah] Lore that I should remember to take in order to make my Eldritch Blast more effective?

Correct, metamagics don't affect Eldritch Blasts, although they can be applied to the SLAs like Eldritch Burst and Spirit Blast.

Invest in Tainted Scholar: Strong Pact, the spell crit bonuses in the cores, Eldritch Power.

Remember that Pact damage has an Evocation DC check, so anything which boosts Evo DCs will help.

If you use Utterdark Blast, your base Eldritch Blast damage is based on Light / Radiance Spellpower instead of Force. Then you can take Power of Enlightenment for the extra Light Spellpower, which also affects alignment spells / SLAs (e.g., Consume, Stricken).

The light damage from Spiritual Retribution applies to all Eldritch Blast shapes, not just auras, IIRC. Though since it's tier-4, you have to invest a lot of APs to get it, including maxing the Spiritual line which only affects auras, so it only makes sense if ES is your primary tree already, IMO.

When you get to epics, don't forget the two Eldritch Blast feats: one in a regular epic feat slot, the other in an ED feat slot.
