UI no longer has an External Store choice?

Seems that under Options>UI, I no longer have the External Store line or checkbox, which is forcing me to use the external store. That would be fine and dandy, except we cannot view custom gear in the external store. I used to have the option to uncheck an External Store line, but, for some reason, it's gone.

It depends on your operating system. If you are using a particularly outdated operating system, we may require you to open the Store externally for security reasons.

Are you running in Compatibility mode? If you are running as XP or maybe even Win 7, the game may peel back some options. Just a theory.

I am not running the game in compatibility mode, and I am using DX11, if that matters.

I wonder how you can activate DX11 and deactivate DX12 on Windows 10?
I use Windows 10 Home too but as far as I know, DX11 should be included but DX12 is permanently active, but I cannot activate options for DX10 or DX11 in the DDO graphical options.
The internal shop works for me by the way and the checkbox for the external shop is at the very end of the UI-Settings.

Hmm, you should be able to see the external store toggle in the UI settings then. Do you know if you are running a 32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows 10?

Windows 10 comes with DirectX12, and despite advertising also having DirectX11.3, it will not show up in the DDO Graphics Options menu as an option. (it will actually be greyed out, not allowing any changes at all)

In order to fix this, you must manually install an older version of DirectX. Once that is done, the game will detect older versions and ask if you want to use that older version. Say yes to that!

First though, you have to download an older version. Follow this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...s.aspx?id=8109

Click the big red download button.

SAVE it to your computer. (you will have to create a folder for it. I used CX but you can make it anything and anywhere)

Once it's finished downloading, do NOT run. Instead, open the folder yourself, find the DXSETUP.exe file, and double click it to run (or right click to open/run as administrator)

Follow it's prompts.

This will properly install older versions of DirectX, allowing you to choose 9, 10, or 11 to use with DDO.

Start DDO and when it detects that you have older versions of DirectX, tell it to use those versions instead.

Options > Graphics > Graphics Hardware Level (dropbox for DirectX of your choice)

I've been using DX11 in windows 10 with no issues.

note: if you do not manually do this as detailed above, your computer / the web updater will detect DirectX12 on your system and cancel the download/install, because you have something 'better' already.

my guess is 32 bit.
