Default 12th Anniversary tips and tricks, questions and answers

    Heyo!

I've been running the Kobolds in the 12th Anniversary (a lot) and have been able to do it very very reliably with a Rogue X / Barb 1 / Wiz 1 using very high stealth and a Quickened Invis spell-like ability. I don't kill anything along the way - just open doors, re-invis, hop along toward goal for a second then resume stealth.

The one and only problem I run into is Dungeon Alert - if it gets to it's max lvl (Red Alert 4) I have a ~50% fail chance since I get harried and my enemies get true sight on a single hit. Fail rate is <1% for lower alert levels.

I'm typically able to run this without triggering even the first level of Dungeon Alert, but one point where I occasionally and surprisingly take on a lot of notice is in the skyway for this map. I'm invis'd and stealthed in the middle of the walkway, but Kobolds I walk above start going nuts and attacking me. Fortunately the walkway blocks me from getting hit (just like it should block line of sight) but the Dungeon Alert ramps up like crazy, which can scuttle the run later.

Is this a bug? Have any other Kobold stealth runners encountered this problem?

yes, its been like that since it's release. When I solo I invis run and once you get up there all the folks below can see you and you might notice you start taking artillary fire from a distance. I invis run to get get and the to door and then to door before jeets, kill everything and then have my alt talk to Malciia. Same for all 3 years on that spot with the DA tho.

In 100+ runs I have yet to figure out exactly why that happens. Maybe one in 15 runs, things seem fine then ... Green Alert ... "No big deal" ... Yellow Alert ... "Huh?" ... Orange Alert ... "Uh oh" ... RED ALERT!!! "Oh pooh bear".

I did notice that when the alert starts to ratchet up, switching from invisibly running to sneaking tends to stop the alert cascade.

I have not had any DA in epics if I use Improved Invisi when opening the last two levers
Wiki dashboard with some useful stealthplay links. LONG LIVE STEALTH!
