It was not a good deal for VIPs who got Aasimar race for free anyway. $40 just for the base expansion along with 20 measly astral shards.

And the other deals were far worse, if you don't care about cosmetic stuff.

It was the first time I ever waited to buy something from DDO.

Fortunately for SSG, I don't TR super fast (so I don't accumulate TP from favor that fast), so they will still get actual money from me for the expansion. I bought some more TP during this last double-bonus sale, to make sure I had enough to buy Ravenloft and the Vistani tree.

The whole thing still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I totally WANTED to give them $100+, but they offered me near-zero benefits for it. They should have had cosmetics AND stuff that actually helps your characters. Like a Reaper Tome of Learning, or even just an Otto's box.

It is like going to a museum and bragging about how fast you made it through. Or bragging about how fast you finished a good steak.

I apologize for the confusion. The double bonus points sale means you received 500+200 points instead of 500+100 points. What is doubled is the bonus points you receive with the purchase, not the total amount of points you purchase.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!

    Kind regards,

I am surprised any expansion just doesn't come with an equivalent amount of points. I am sure if you paid 35$, if you got the 35$ point package for free, everyone would buy the expansion. They aren't an everyday thing, you can only buy it one time, so it is like a super limited bonus days.

Even if it just came with half the points it would be worth it. I saw the offering and was COMPLETELY underwhelmed. Don't care about cosmetics like at all so really there was nothing there for me.

I also bought some points and had a couple thousand saved up from TR's so I plan to get it with DDO points because I can then, at least, just get the parts that actually matter to me.

Yeah, I am surprised these days that you can pick a bonuses ala carte for digital purchases. Like you pick the base product and it costs X, then tack on a the cosmetics, it adds some cost, but at a pre-release discount. Repeat until you build the expansion package you pre-pay for. Then after release, fixed packages, and then release all of it in the store for points (sans the expansion for a year. Make it cash only for that long).

Yep Does it mean that anyone who bought standard edition will have to wait even more for the iconic?

Same for me. I wanted to buy the expansion but all the bundles seemed very uninteresting to me. I'm not interested in cosmetics and cakes (or AS), in fact, I actually avoid them to save inventory space.

The only thing I was interested in, was the quests, the race, the iconic, and the racial tome.
Which means, my only options were 55$ CAD for half of it or 170$ CAD for the rest. Both seemed very expensive.

AS as no value to me, I don't buy anything off the ASAH and I've got a bunch saved up from selling stuff. Some actual DDO points would've been more enticing.

That said, a lot of people did buy the overpriced big bundle, so maybe it was a winning move for SSG's marketing team. But I do wish next time that the bundles are more flexible.

And you didn't know that yesterday?

This makes me angry, seriously. I am sick of the communication of this company.
