Found a solution for cat blocking my screen

Yes. There are cats that are raised with dogs and are unaware that they are in fact cats. They act very differently. I miss mine desperately, she passed after just twelve years. People ask me to adopt other cats/kittens all the time but their personalities are nothing like hers. Its just not the same.

Good taste in desks. I'm currently using the Ikea V2 Jerker as well with 2 side swivel mounts in the same color of birch. I used the shelf on the bottom and that has all my cpus on it and the monitors are all up top with noting over the main screen. Once I feel better maybe I will snap a pic and add to the thread.

I wish Ikea still had this desk. I would not mind getting more parts for it or maybe even a second one. This one is configured as a standing desk and works very well for me.

EBay and Craigslist. ebay is a little step and you find better deals on Craigslit. I bought mine new but would like an extra shelf as well. And once I get new KVM swith I would like to go back to 4 monitors total, 2 for each pod.

Too bad my cat didn't want to cooperate and stay on the desk. He doesn't like heights. I know right?

This is a temp. set up. I usually only have one keyboard and 2 mice, but my KVM switch burned out on me and I've yet to get another one. I usually have the laptop in front of the ergo. keyboard and can play 2 toons at the same time. Usually suck at it, but sometimes I come out the winner

The monitor to the right is there for my DDO spreadsheet and maps, so I don't have to alt+tab (yes I can be that lazy at times). I usually run an amp and 4 channel DJ mixer for the 4 computers sound, instead of the 2 tiny ones you see in my screenine (they're temp. as well). Down to 3 machines ATM and need switch, ugh, c'mon income tax return!

I've got lots more computer gear, but I like to run light with just my ergo and laptop keyboards and 2 mice. I really should add a 3rd mouse IMO. Less reach than the KVM switch.



EDIT ~ my desk lamp is in the lower left corner on the floor for now. Once I'm fully back up and running I'll reinstall the light for the desk. In fact, I have a nicer one I'm going to replace it with.
EDIT 2 ~ where laptop is ATM, is normally where the food an drink goes, as the arms can easily swivel. Would be nice to have the food stuffs back on the platform and not on the desk. Can't wait.

I use these types of set-ups in other venues all the time. There are many brands and versions. That was just a quick example above. Amazon has allot to offer in ergo IMO. And sometimes at better prices.

I am on a laptop myself. And as for the cats getting between myself and laptop. As I am sitting in my recliner. I generally have at least one cat at any time. There seems to be a schedule.

Plus a red nose pit mix. who was raised by pne of the cats. She acts sometimes mre like a cat than a dog. lol

Hugging the shadows, the cat burglar who hates cats rushes with preternatural speed towards the commotion ahead. Without a whisper of sound she opens her purse, reaches in past the lip gloss, past the little tissue dispenser, past the bar of soap she pinched from a hotel, like, 5 years ago, to find the Pink Squirt Gun +22 of Cat Banishing. It is an old and trusted weapon, used in many battles against the demonic felines the dwell within her mom's house.

Drawing to a corner near the cat-astrophe, she places her back to the wall, shoulders square, shirt gun muzzle down, and makes a quick look around the corner just like super awesome cops do in shows about super awesome cops. It is worse than she feared. Far worse. The commotion was caused by a bunch of cat lovers. Even at 30 meters she could see the cat hair all over their clothing. They were already laying out boxes and towels and kibble to appease their feline overlords.

Nodding her head from side to side she quickly returned to the shadows and skulked away. Those people could not be helped. There is only so much a bubble-headed, kind of spacey nerd girl can do to combat the evils of the universe. With a touch of sadness she returned the squirt gun to her purse and retrieved a new piece of bubble gum.

Do you have a solution for a 100 lb dog? My monitors are on the coffee table and my dog stands in between the monitors and me blocking my view! He also leans on me and puts his head in my lap. I think he's trying to tell me something like, "Get up and take me for a walk!"
