    Default Spiral of Fire and Force

    Planning to TR and haven't done a sorcerer. Don't own dragonborn so thinking drow would be a solid choice for the CHA, darkfire and spell resistance which could help with horrid saves. Don't plan on taking any spell penetration instead relying on sonic blast (will), web (reflex), greater shout (fort) for soft CC with things with resistance. Force as secondary elemental with EK boosting force spell power and providing defense. Have a spiral, voice of the elementals which has a great effect that when you reequip it starts back at fire so going fire based. That's 50 exceptional fire spell power, 20% exceptional crit and 5 caster levels to fire. ED will bounce between Angel and Draconic. Possibility of medium armor and heavy shield for PRR/MRR and more defense vs reflex save spells with shield. Insightful reflex fixes reflex save as end gear setup has INT item which is easier to find then DEX.

Boss fights come to mind when all you do is blast.

    Do you have Favored Soul? Seems like sorc 18 / FvS 2 is still a no-brainer for a Fire savant. You lose two lvl 9 spells, but how much will you really use WoB and PWK? Plus it gets you medium armor & shield proficiencies free, so you don't have to put so many APs into EK, letting you invest in say Air or Earth Savant as a backup element.

    12 drow / 37 fire / 17 angel / 14 ek for arcane barrier

    lose 2 max caster lvl from capstone

    lose -2 DC, capstone CHA and EK CHA, which is bigger than it seems because I'm taking Scion of Fire, no dc bumps on legendary feat

    1d3+3 points of fire damage per caster level up to a maximum damage of 20d3+60 at caster level 20

    Capstone
    22d3 + 66 * 1000% = 1320 * crit mod 2.55 = 3366

    Fully charge scourge and spiral making up for lost 2 caster levels
    20d3 + 60 * 1010% = 1212 * crit mod 2.55 = 3090

    Non charged scourge but spiral making up for lost 2 caster levels
    20d3 + 60 * 980% = 1176 * crit mod 2.55 = 2998

    EDIT (Fire cores will bump up fire spells to 20 from the first two cores so this is non applicable)
    No scrouge no spiral non arcane ED
    18d3 + 54 * 980% = 1058 * crit mod 2.55 = 2697

    Damage wise for fire capstone, defense capstone, mana fvs multiclass, off element fvs multiclass (force)

    Lightning could be off element as ball lightning and chain lightning do not require an epic feat to fix but no enhance spell power from belt

    Acid would have enhance spell power but acid burst would require a feat, otherwise black dragon bolt and cloud kill

    Can't do cold

    Otherwise keeping the 12 Drow and the 37 Fire Savant how would you do the FVS multiclass for Air or Acid?

    That leaves 31 APs so you have few options:
    • 11 AoV / 13 EK (Arcane Barrier) / 7 Air or Earth (two crit bonuses)
    • 11 AoV / 21 Air or Earth (4 cores) - this req's an extra racial AP
    • 11 AoV / 13 EK / 8 WP (Wall of Steel) for +10 PRR +5 Fire Spellpower


    The build idea I was kicking around was half-elf sorc 18 / FvS 2 with warlock dilettante:
    • Air / Fire Savant with Storm DM
    • the fire damage from warlock feat scales with Spellpower. It's only d4 every 2 secs, but hey, free extra DPS is free.
    • HE also gets Arcane Fluidity same as elves. Medium armor has 25% ASF: -15% from ML:20 sapphire of Spell Agility -10% from Arcane Fluidity.
    • AP config is something like 37 Air / 13 Fire / 12 racial / 11 AoV with 7 APs to tweak things. 4 extra racial APs gives you enough to put 24 into Fire Savant for Scorch SLA + 4th core.
