Default How do you gift someone DDO points now?

How do you gift someone DDO points now?

Formerly you could call DDO and purchase DDO points directly over the phone for someone else.

Formerly you could purchase a DDO/LOTR game gift card from Walmart.

Neither option is now available now.

I am NOT going to give someone even a family member my credit card information (12 - 14 year olds). It is against DDO rules for another person to provide me with their account userid and authentication information.

You can use the DDO market to buy points. I believe that will email you a code to redeem. You'll then want to forward that code to your friend for them to enter in the DDO store.

That's not lag, it's just DDO trying to become turn-based again.
Feature wishlist: colour-coded HP bars; red/blue teams in raids; rez-timer in party menu

^ This. Granted, you won't get (afaik) any 'double point' or 'triple point' bonuses from the market and there are more choices (at better costs, in some cases) from the in-game store, but yeah - the market will send you an e-mail with a key code that you can send to anybody you wish. Write it on some card stock, if you like, and there you go - instant gift card!

Good for you. I can't tell you how many nitwits I had to deal with working at Amazon who let someone else use their credit card and got a huge unexpected purchase as a result.

    If it is physically possible...

Have the person log on and enter the DDO store.
Then you enter your credit card info and buy the DDO points.
Then once points are confirmed, delete credit card info.
Have friend log out and re-log in and confirm credit card info is no longer saved in the DDO store.

A pain but you could get the double DDO points this way.

Looks like you can no longer buy DDO points from the market, but just specific expansion packs.

I want to gift my son-in-law a horse.

What kind of craziness is it where you say to a company, "I want to buy [your product]" and the company's response is, "Sorry nope, you can't do that."

    Grrr
