Please post any 3 tips or tricks be it for new(er) or not so new players. Max 3 though to let more people into the fun of sharing.

Here are 3 tips from me:
    - The Bracers of the Wind are great for getting Blur on any character from level 3. http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Bracers_of_Wind
    - You can get a rez cake cheap each life from this quest: http://ddowiki.com/page/Vintage_Old_Sully%27s_Grog
    - The level 1 hireling Byron Scoutsword will happily kill anything in the first quests on elite for you if need be http://m.ddowiki.com/page/Jevan_Solidus

-Don't be too disheartened about not having the bleeding edge of DCs on spells; target appropriately and you'll still be in with a good chance of it hitting, eg. for big brute enemies don't target their fortitude saves, use a will or reflex based spell instead.
-At low levels in particular, ranged attacks can be very strong since you can combine effects on both the weapon & the ammo; +1 holy arrows/bolts only require minimal levels in cannith crafting & not much ingredients to make.
-Don't just hoard consumables, actually remember to use them when necessary, they can often make the difference

and a bonus tip; to make your life more sci-fi, instead of turning on the lights, engage the photon emitters
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

    * Ctrl + leftclick on a shop item like ingredients to buy stacks of them instead of 1 at a time
    * Coin Lord favour gets you more bag space on your character - to see how much you have hit 'P' and the Patrons tab. And on the Adventures tab you can hit the word 'Patron' and sort quests to see which ones you have left to do. Same with House Kundarak favour for more bank space on your character.
    * If you ever have a spell and you drag it from your character sheet to your hotbar, and then when you go to use it it brings up a selector of more than 1 spells, you can drag each of those spells from the selector individually to the hotbar. So for example the Resist Energy spell - you can drag that to a hotbar, then click on it, then drag Fire, Cold, Acid, Electric and Sonic to five different spots on your hotbars for easy single click use later.

To split a stack of items, hold CTRL and drag the stack. It will then ask you how many items to move.

If you have a spell on your hotbar that can be effected by metamagics, you can right click on the spell to select to always use the metamagic feat, even if the metamagic feat itself is turned off.

If you sold an item to a vendor (not a pawn broker) or destroyed it by dragging it out of your inventory and selecting yes, you can typically buy it back from the buy back menu at most vendors. This works well if you want to loot an exclusive item, but are already carrying one. But keep in mind: the buy back menu will only hold on to so many items, and only for so long before they are gone for good.

You can get a free 30 slot ingredients bag from the 12 favor patron in the tower of the 12, no favor needed. The bag is unbound, but exclusive. That means you can only have 1 in your inventory at a time, but you can have as many as you want in your bank. Smaller free ingredients, gem, and collectibles bags are available for free from various quest givers in the harbor.

Shadar kai get a free, unbound stack of +5 thieves tools when they reach level 15. Caster-based iconics (when they hit 15) and veteran status casters get free, unbound spell components for all their spell levels. Some vet status gear is bta.

There are many useful ways of getting around quickly in ddo. Try to familiarize yourself with all of the places a teleport spell (or scroll), teleport gate, and your airship can get you. On top of those, you can strategically choose your spirit binder (even on your airship) and /death to get there, log into the eberron or eveningstar hall of heroes (passport is free to VIPs and iconics), leave the hall of heroes to various locations in eveningstar or to the locations of events like risia, use the various planescallers in hall of heroes or on your airship, and ask your airship navigator to send you to many exotic quest and explorer areas.

    Default I just baked theses...

Today from the Midwinter Festival I added stacking resists and used the Stone of Change on my cosmetics:

Also from the Risia Ice Games you can make Icy Burst kits. I made these today as well:

Sometimes you can sell the nice loot gen witha Red Augment Slot that you Icy Burst on the Shard Exchange. I may specialize in xbows, but I've sold other types of weapons for Shards too.

EDIT~ I ran out of mats on the xbow in the screen shot above. I need 5/20 to finish and make Icy Burst.

Go into your settings and change the color of Mini-Bosses (default is Orange) to another color to make it easier to distinguish from Bosses (Red). I prefer a light blue.

Go to the keybind settings in your options and find the "Assist" option, hotkey that. It makes it easier in tough fights to see what someone else is focused on so you can eliminate a target more quickly. Also useful for healers to see who is tanking.

Use Push-To-Talk feature, nobody wants to hear you chew, eat, burp, whatever.
Playing (and dying) since Open Beta...

-You can press Ctrl= to lock or unlock your hotbars so that you don't accidentally drag icons off of the bar in the middle of combat.

-You can assign key mappings to your hotbar slots in the options menu, so you can press keys on your keyboard instead of clicking icons on your hotbar.

-Potions of Heroism for an extra +2 to all skills, this can be useful if your rogue's trapping skills arn't quite high enough.

I do the same thing, but it amuses me to make my mini-bosses pink.

Buy a quiver from the hammer and chain in the harbor even if you don't use a missile weapon. Having it on auto-gather will help keep those annoying arrows/bolts out of your inventory to a limited degree (if you pick them up).

Don't auto-gather on your green bags; sort your tokens/totems/dragonscales/slavers mats manually and you'll never have to sort through 6 different green bags to figure out that you have 3 different incomplete stacks of thunder forge ingots. Stack Remnants and Cannith essences in your inventory or crafting storage instead of in bags; they'll stack higher.

Invest in use magic device on all characters if you plan to run reaper mode; this means putting max skill points, keeping the best cha item you can find and farming a http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Golden_Cartouche. Then buy scrolls of raise dead and scrolls of teleport.

A cheapo returning throwing weapon should be a part of everyone's standard kit, even if you aren't proficient. They are too useful for breaking explosive barrels and hitting remote switches without expending arrows or spellpoints.

Pick the right weapon for the job. Blunt for skeletons. Slashing for zombies. Good for devils. Glass or Handwraps or Everbright for Oozes. Watch for the yellow damage notation above a monster's head, it means you could probably be using a better weapon to kill it (the big exception being NPC barbarians and large or larger elementals, who have unbreakable damage reduction).

If it looks like a trap or an ambush....it is probably both a trap and an ambush.

Don't be afraid to ask for help. 99% of players are more than willing to help out a new (or not so new) player, but very few can read minds

Check out the favor rewards! There are several nice things you can get simply by doing quests such as Drow, Favored Soul, and more!

See if you can find a like-minded guild. It's a great way to meet people to quest/hang out with, and enjoy the buffs that come with it.

    1. When you collect your end reward from the Mayor in Korthos for the Sacrifices quest, take the Anger's Step boots that show up. You get 2 clickies of 5-minute Expeditious Retreat. This give you 25% increase in movement speed. This is better than you'll find on any current random loot gen or crafted gear until much higher levels. 10 minutes of 25% fast speed should get you through most quests and you get the 2 clickies back if you rest at a shrine. DO THIS!

    2. If you are a caster, drag your spell components to a toolbar. The toolbar will show the quantity you have left. Never run out in the middle of a quest again.

    3. Cleric Hireling Healers can be very annoying. Here are some tips to work-around their AI limitations
    a. Bind a key that "calls the cleric to you". Essentially you probably want to "park" them and call them when needed so they don't die in traps or being stupid in fights.
    b. However, after you call them to you and they instantly teleport to you, they will be on "cool down" for 5 seconds <AND> after the 5 seconds are up they will be "brain dead", SO
    c. Bind keys for both "Attack" and "Defend". When they are "brain dead", you can "fix" them by toggling them from attack to defend, or vice versa.
You want the keys bound to specific key presses because trying to click on the toolbars in the midst of a fight will get you killed.

    • You can change the color of your D20 in the UI Options section, as well as customize a lot of other options. This isn't game breaking, but it's just fun to be able to do. I like to match D20s to different characters. I don't think I've used the default since launch.

    • The level 11 Fighter hireling, Mikayl the Pious can cast Dimension Door. This is surprisingly useful.

    • Being self-sufficient is always good. Try to always have a few Cure potions, along with Blindness Removal, Curse Removal, and Lesser Restoration potions on you. Not huge stacks are needed - just a few can make a quest go a lot smoother. Each of these potions are sold by Jalin Kalabrey in the Marketplace.

    • BONUS TIP! If you are new, be patient. Give yourself time to learn the game, and it's idiosyncrasies. The game is wonderful and fun and full of great things... but there is a learning curve. There will be some times when you don't know what you are doing, or why. But, it all will click. When it does, this really becomes the best MMO on the market.

    1) Take 1 step forward when you zone into a quest, lets everyone know you're ready for buffs.

    2) Always carry a returning dart/hammer/ axe whatever. Anything ranged that only takes up 1 inventory space.

    3) ALWAYS ask when in a pug to invite your favorite hireling.

    1. Bind yourself to the 12 near the Airship (and Mired with Kobolds) - it's by far the best and closest place to be revived in

    2. User /Death for fast teleports

    3. /Death in a bar wont hurt your items

1.) Low-level melee should make use of a free tactical feat called trip, it works wonders.

2.) /stuck is a life-saver for getting jammed up in places where you cannot move, it also has the added benefit of teleporting you back to a previous location, so it can be helpful in certain quests (like getting back to the top of Tempests Spine)

3.) Repetition is the best way to get comfortable in both your play style and learning mechanics. So don’t be afraid to run the same quests and maybe try something different.

    1. The Bunny Hat cosmetic has a hidden effect of +3 UMD(competence) when wielding a scroll.
    2. You can leave yourself logged in for extended periods of time by hitting quit and leaving the Yes/No option up. (only works 1x per login as 2nd time will instantly quit)
    3. You can bind to your airship if you have the Banquet Hall hold room.

I really hope this is a sarcastic and fun post. Because in truth no one should do any of these things.
Although, Clicking the part 4 portal in shroud has to be done by somebody.
