Default Very clueless DDO semi-newbie here... Level 9 Cleric AND Lvl 9 Wizard spellcasting?

    Howdy!!
I'm a very clueless mostly-newbie to the realm of DDO; haven't played all that much really, so I have a question.

Is it at all possible to get both level 9 Cleric spellcasting, and level 9 Wizard spellcasting in one build? Something of a Mystic Theurge sort of thing? is that possible at all?
Any way I could swing that sort of thing? Cloooosest thing I can think of is just a druid, but stil curious, nonetheless?
Or am I out of luck? >,>

No. A 10/10 Cleric/Wizard has only 5th level spells in both classes.

    Hi, welcome to DDO.

I'm guessing you're thinking of PnP D&D's prestige classes, specifically the ones which raise your spell level in more than one caster class (in this case, cleric & wizard). To which the answer is: no, sorry, nothing like that in DDO. Your available spell level is determined solely by the number of class levels you have in a given caster class. And if it hasn't been made clear yet, only the first 20 levels (called "heroic" in DDO) allow you to pick a class; levels 21-30 are called "epic" and they are identical for everyone. So you will see other characters displayed in the Who panel with icons indicating e.g. "cleric 20 / epic 10." Something like "cleric 15 / wizard 15" isn't doable in DDO because that's not how they implemented epic levels.

More generally, my first piece of advice to a PnP D&D player - or even someone who's played other D&D CRPGs like NWN - is...forget what you learned about D&D. Well, maybe not everything, I mean DDO still technically uses the d20 system and all the stats & races & classes & spells come from PnP and blah blah blah. But the implementation of 3E rules in DDO has been so heavily modified over the last 12(?!) years, it's easier if you treat DDO as a completely new system with near-identical terminology to D&D, rather than something you may be familiar with.

    No.

But do look at Cleric domains. Not the same, but maybe close enough?

Just for an example, I am running one of Unbongwah's Zombie Cleric build where I have 13 Cleric and 7 Wizard levels. I can cast both cleric and wizard spells up to levels decided by my cleric and wiz levels.
    Here is the build: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...e-Cleric-Build

Closest thing would be a druid, which gets a few spells from both. like they lvl 7 wizard spell finger of death and the lvl 6 cleric spell heal.

I know it seems like I'm responsible for every build on the forums these days; but if you look closely, you will see it's not actually one of my build threads.

I know that you are not responsible, but it was just easier to click on your "Cleric Domains" link in your signature than to find Zombie Cleric another way. Your build links are very helpful.
