I think a bard in generally should be good for a charming stealthbuild. they have ms and hide and many skillpoints.
Some Spellsinger cores provide + dc on enchantment and you can get spellpenetration from tier 4 there too
Maybe a bard Rogue PdK build would be fun?

Oh and another question: Is casting charm person breaking invis and stealth?
yes, was thinking that this would be the approach of a bard stealth build. Not sure if or when. I wonder how scrolls would work in the lowbie levels with Wand and Scroll mastery?

casting charm person does break stealth and I am fairly sure it breaks invisi too.

Maybe a bard build with 1 barbarian for speed.

Both the Carver and the Courtesan do profit from the upcoming changes to Shadowdancer Mp and wepaon versatility.

These changes do make The Carver a very strong buildpossibility. I posted an enhancement alternative for the Carver, ditching the vistani capstone and stacking faster sneaking for maximum flexibility and fun

I also posted a better balanced Courtesan, with reworked enhanements for more damage mainly by including deadly strikes, heroic int based charmspell and burst of glacial wrath freeze in epics. These changes should make this build viable in low reaper

Saekee is reincarnating from a muffed epic thrower. I am intrigued by the fleetfoot split and may do 18 assassin/1 barb/1 fighter. I am struggling over AP though and the best use of the remaining tier5 assassin AP to take/give up duento high costs of vistani. Thoughts? I don't like only 1 AP in MtF, feels too lengthy a wait for the buildup of the signature action and MP/DC.

Hm i havnt played for nearly 2 years now, so my thoughts and buildideas should be way outdated i guess. Anyway i still like theorycrafting so lets have a look:

I guess i wanted the fleetfood split to be an 19 rog 1 barb if i recall right. Barb was only for the movementspeed
I had the following ap Setup in mind:
Vistani 41 > to lessen the impact of the loss of the powerful assassinatecap by taking the similiar strong vistanicap, all the vistani goodies AND be able to sneak faster then a pure Assassin
ta 3 obviously as we want to be fast
that leaves 36 for assassin: lethality, assassinate and knife spec is a must, that leaves 2 points for MtF

The only way to play this as a build with 3 aps in MtF is ditching the vistanicap. as you play barb mainly for the movementspeed not taking fast movement from ta would be spoiling the mainidea of the build and you would be better of playing with the Assassincap and Rog 20.

Alternatives to the vistanicap are mostly fun options i guess and loose a chunk of dmg.

    I can see a Rog 18 barb2 without vistanicap
ass 39 for deadly strikes and 3 ap in MtF
    vis 31 or less
    ta 3
and occult slayer 6 and one free ap
for earsmash with knockout, weapon bond for the +5 attackboost and the dmg reduction from barb. Earsmash is powerful to get your sa dmg through and to initiate assassinate, so maybe less now i think i have read somewhere that assassinate had been changed to only need stealth as condition now and no sneak attack vulnerabilty anymore.

Alternativly it might be fun to play some sprinting Assassin to make the name Fleetfood Assassin even more adequate

    like rog 18 /barb 1 /1x
ass 39 full MtF deadly strikes
    ta 3
vis 23 at least for double daggers and celerity
and falcon 11 for sprint boost watch the center and well rounded I
and 4 aps to play with

    Or a 18Rog / 2 Barb variant
with points in Fb for sprint boost and cracking attack with body blow to reduce fortsave and fort for more sa dmg and higher assassinate chance
ass 37/39 full MtF /deadly strikes
    vis 23 double daggers celerity
    ta 3
    Occ 6 Earsmash knockout
Fb 9/11 sprint boost crack attack with body blow/ xtra action boost

What is the one fi lvl doing for you? faster imp crit and a feat, weapon focus for 2 mp i guess? i think 19 rog 1 barb might be better for + 1 sa another rogue special ability and +1 assassinate and 1 % ms from ta. A second barblvl would trade the feat vs 3%dmg reduction

Hope these ideas prove to be helpful and still relevant
Let me know about your decision and thoughts if u like

I am using fighter at 12 to get improve crit piercing & slashing so to use a GS radiance kukri. I will eventually swap the feat for something else. Maybe weapon focus.

Also, if I ER into a mechanic, that extra feat is needed for insightful reflexes.

I plan to do Assassin tier 5, vistani capstone & TA 3 AP. That leaves only 5 AP (1 in lethality) for assassin. Assassinate is 1; knife spec is 2AP; that leaves 2AP for MtF. I lose the +10 damage from the assassin mark but frankly that requires the mark before happening anyway, and I often forget to apply it...

I lose 5d6 sneak but gain 5% attack speed, +2 to all stats (instead of just dex & int) and 20 MP over 10 MP. We also gain the Vistani fortune which is an odd boost. More than anything, I like the speed boost, it is the big DPS boost since it is a flat damage increase on everything and is funner.

I think you can eek out more damage with T5 Vistani and taking only one level of Monk. The AP saved by taking T5 Vistani instead of T5 Assassin can be repurposed in useful ways. Likewise, the second level of Monk nets you nothing useful. You don't need the feat and you're not spending the AP to get to T2 abilities. Grabbing FvS is one option, allowing the use of a KtA-like ability at a much cheaper AP cost.

If someone is sick of the monk and prefers the light armor that they have lying around, they could do 1 Barb. The run speed boost is just awesome with TA run speed, especially for melees that need to close in fast on some mobs. Plus the gameplay is just to much more enjoyable. OTOH 2 FvS might lead to smight weakness for insta-vulnerability stacks.

Vistani builds have more flexibility than the assassin splits since the 41 AP gets the capstone as well as the Tier 5s whereas Assassin tier 5 ends up eating up most of the AP for other fun stuff...

    Hey Hjarki,
Very nice split! It should indeed provide more raw dmg than my build. I had pondered about Divine Will for a time but as i dont own Fvs i just let it slip.
I personaly would hate to lose Assassinate though and i would miss imp. feint maybe, but this is quite certainly the most deadly glasscannon assassin dmgwise possible you came up here with....
i took the liberty to post your build under the glassknife link to provide easy access to an up to date max raw damage assassin. All hail Hjarki for this!

I like the idea to skip monk alltogether for barbarian Saekee, it will cost quite some dmg though loosing grandmaster of forms and dance of flowers if u dont have very good ds Equipment to max it without forms.

Havnt played for nearly 2 years now, my buildideas are quite outdated, but as i like theorycrafting i may try to actualize them if i find some time.
funny and nice that this thread has a visitor now and then after all this time, i like and apreciate that
Hopefully i will find the time to play ddo again in 1- 2 years.
    All have fun

And I am still watching, as I love rogue play and always looking for a good reason to roll one again. I am interested in looking a bit deeper here but I worry if I play rogue in low skull reaper or in the more popular raids I will get too easily stomped!

Now a build that meets both these requirements may not be easy to find?

You could try to play an Improved Defensive Roll tank-like build.

It might be possible to even play an oldstyle improved defensive high Dodge Assassin with full assassintree and most of the rest in the acrobattree, maybe splashed for some more defense. I might give a more tanky Rogue some more thoughts after the christmasthing. I rememeber someone posting a reaper dwarf Rogue with a focus on high defense and hp somewhere in the forum not too long ago

that could be done better with a non-assassin vistani--splash monk and ocean stance, daggers, maybe even ranger for dance of death--lots of interesting possibilities

I think you'd be better off just going with Quarterstaff. You've already invested to T4 in a staff-specific tree and there's no defensive advantage to spending all those AP on daggers. If you're planning on playing at level 30, the Bloodrage Chrism also makes a strong recommendation for two-handed.

I was looking at feats and BAB--I do not think you can take IC pierce at level 12 due to BAB issues. 1 monk has 0 BAB and rogues only just make the BAB at 12 for IC. So splashing 1 monk drops it too low. That is why I often splash 1 monk with fighter at 12.

I am at level 13 with the 1 barb splash. It is not as fun as stacking faster sneaking enhancements. You sneak too slowly for my taste. Assassinate has fotten ridiculously powerful so much that I prefer to jump out of mid-melee to plop back/stealth/assassinate and I need stealth speed to do that...I am thinking again to 1 monk/19 rogue (IC pierce at level 15, GTWF at 18 though) or go monk fighter and get Master of forms at 12 and IC etc.

UNQUESTIONABLY it is the best assassin for heroics. The new assassinate changes have made assassins crazy.

    Some build notes

My main is sitting at cap as 18 rogue/1 barb/1 fighter. I decided to go vistani since in Sharn I was not landong assassinates and anyway I do not have the gear, tomes, etc to make it work. What I plan to do is spend 4 AP in FB and get 6 extra rages, then use a minor artifact and lowbie sentient gem weapon for a blood feast swap clickie of 1000 temp hp 7x/rest

I have an alternate stealth build for parking a toon at level 10–I call it Catwoman although has little to do with the character—6 monk/2 ranger/2 fighter WSS, very fun

Finally I plan to eventually build around perfect pinnacle—the fire stance blinding happens very often so I think that 1 monk 1 fighter is looking to be very fun

I'll be waiting to hear about that Perfect Pinnacle rogue/monk, I love the idea! Good luck.

incoming nerf to stacking sneak speed. This saddens me

My 1 barb build has been great—thx to minor artifacts I have created a 1K hp clickie with 8 uses, really helps

Any thoughts on what a modern prowler might look like? I'm intrigued with the wiz level for Extended displacement and keen to give it a try even without the old sneak speed stuff working.

18 rogue/wiz1/barb 1? With the usual TWF feats? Fighter feat better than barb run speed?

It is fun as a heroic leveling build since you move so much faster. In epics you can boost sneak speed in SD now and swap out to DC for DPS so less useful.
SDK gets the displacement clickie for the same cost and on top you get sneak damage, jaunts and chain attack. It is really fun.

So yeah, it is ok for a heroic run where you lose dps in late heroics (GTWF you get at level 18 and you do not get Lethality until level 20) but for TRs that affects you little.
