Choked by Mother Night

Nightmother’s weaponry has the property “Mother Night’s Embrace” that makes the weapon evil and does 9d6 evil damage on each hit.

The Gulthias Staff has the property “Choked by Mother Night” that also makes the weapon evil and does 9d6 evil damage on each hit. However, it also has additional purple text that suggests hitting enemies of Mother Night may somehow reward the holder of the staff.

A friend’s acrobat character recently got the Gulthias Staff and has tested it on many enemies, including Good Outsiders, without being able to see any extra effects.

Does anyone know what “Choked by Mother Night” does? Or is “Choked by Mother Night” identical to “Mother Night’s Embrace”?

Choked may be more enjoyable than Embraced, if that's your sort of thing, but you should not agree to it without knowing the safe word first.

The Night Mother tends to get carried away and that doesn't end well for anyone.
