Dragon Angel (DB Evoker)

Yeah, I know, not the most creative of names.

Disclaimers: I'm not really playing much DDO these days, so this is just a theory-crafted work-in-progress. I don't own Ravenloft yet, so I can't test it there. And I don't play Reapers, so don't bother asking me if it's endgame-Reaper-viable. If you get there with this build, you let me know.

Now that Favored Soul DCs can be based on CHA instead of WIS, this gives them much more synergy with Arcane ED abilities, like Energy Burst and Hellball. And with the advent of Ravenloft, fire-specced casters are hopefully viable in epics again (fingers crossed). Plus you can always fall back on light spells etc.

So here goes: CHA-based red Dragonborn FvS running in Draconic Incarnation to take advantage of breath weapons.

Hi,

I needed to do another FVS life on my main and basically went same way. I almost went Aasimar but the +3 Evoc DC from Dragon was too good to pass. Implosion is AWESOME!

Here are some differences for your thoughts and would love to get feedback since I am planning to do a few etrs.

STAT - I went with 16 in CON and INT. Being CHA based means my diplo will be very high and my bluff and Intim should do the trick for most skill check.

DC - For pure DC, I prefer EA destiny, I had 4 more evoc DC compared to Dragon. Plus EA gives a lot more heal options and offensive spells.

Diety - I went Sovereign Host for the free heal all up, for those OMG NEED HJEAL moment.

I am currently etr'ing and I am going to to take at least 1 spell pen feat to take advantage of the twist in epic destiny but I am not planning on take the other two. I went through the Ravenloft chain a few times on EE and R1-3 and I have not had much issue (x3 Wiz + 2xfvs+spell pen item on at all times though). Obviously, if I were planning to go against drow, I would have had to go your route.
On my first life, I took heavy armor (was testing, not worth it) and empower healing which I almost recommend cause you need potent heal spell to heal people at level 30 with 4K hp.

Well, hope you have some time to run this build, FVS need some love, the last pass was almost a joke for FVS, yes the extra sp or hp is nice and the change to main stat selection was welcomed but we still need another tree!!!

Nice build! I am planning to TR my main randowl into a charisma-based favored soul if I can ever finish my racial TRs. Still not sure on race, but I am also liking dragonborn.

Dragonborn is the way to go for max DC and interestingly it works well with fvs only having 2 trees.

Aasimar is the way to go for a little better survivability (10% hp bonus while staying pure fvs + hamp)

Bladeforged is an interesting low skull blasting option simply because legendary memory of fine regalia and the 10% exceptional spell lore without giving up defenses. While the DC would be lowest, potential DC is still very good and no-fail for almost everything. But with the next update and gear changes - who knows how long it will be a good build.

I like exalted angel over draconic, but both would work well.

I took DI solely for the extra Dragon Breath + Flyby Attack, which can't be twisted. That was the whole theme of this build, after all. If you want a conventional light-blasting build (w/ or w/out racial dragon breath), then EA certainly makes more sense.

Has anyone tried out this buuild out..I'm wrapping up my third cleric life I would like to try favored soul so I can make use out of my +3 DC for conjuration by using cometfall and I have a ton of Necro items so I could still have a good slay living and destruction DC.
