DDO started to lag!

Hey guys,
I just got back to play after a month break.
Suddenly, the game lags like hell, gets stuck every few mins... I can't play like that.
Is there anything I can do?

The most you can do is bug report it, unlike what some people think those do help. As for the lag check what abilities you used when it happened too, there is a very large forum post out atm about it. They have put out 1 patch already in an attempt to fix it but it was just a small part.

About two months ago, after one of the patches leading up to Ravenloft, many players began experiencing a new form of stuttering and freezing, typically triggered by skill/spell usage but also when looting chests, when enemies use certain skills, and perhaps other things. The degree and frequency varies widely from computer to computer based upon unknown factors. One of the most recent patches was supposed to fix the problem but it failed. The developers have stated on multiple occasions that they are aware of the problem and actively searching for a solution since it impacts so many players.

We all must sit tight and hope a developer figures out the problem sooner rather that later. I am not saying that is awesome, it is just the reality of the situation.

I like the 'perhaps other things'. I've had 2 big freeze spots; always at the worst time, the latest being last night. I was running, normal guards were running and my side of the game just stopped until they killed me. No spells, no specials, just because it wanted to.

Most of my hits come when I'm logging in or right after I zone in to the game or the market place. The market place I understand as it's kind of a graphic's shock coming from the harbor, but the one's in game when nothings happening are pains.

Firstly, try lowering you graphics. If this does not work then check your internet.

If neither of these works check you graphics driver. Alot of the time especially if you upgrade your graphics card you need to install//update the driver or the graphics card will not work properly. Even if you have not upgraded recently then still check for updats.

Also, do a disk clean up. If you do not know how search it up on google, this can help clear cache and unneeded things on your computer. Also do a defragment. If you do not know how to do these 2, search how on google, its fairly easy!
