Default Is this the game, or my connection?

I've been having a problem for about two months now where my connection seems to freeze in game, but only for uploaded information. I can see everything moving around me, I can get damaged, on my cleric, I can see my healing aura heal me. But I can't move or have any actions I try to take have an effect. It's not like regular lag, where you totally freeze. If I hit the space bar to jump, I get that crouching gesture, which doesn't happen with "normal" lag. If I hit a spell, the timer goes off and then immediately resets.

This episodes can last from ten or so seconds to ten or fifteen minutes. During this time, I can alt tab out and use the internet normally. I can stream video or access other sites. It's only the one direction, ingame, that seems to be frozen. In the last two days it has gotten much worse and I lose connection completely.

I am on a Windows 10 machine. This problem predates the recent big windows update. I use Verizon DSL on a dedicated line, and my PC is hardwired to the router. I have noticed no other problems with my connection, but DDO is my one big use of the internet.

Does this sound like a game problem, or an ISP problem?

The behavior you describe is your client running fine and trying to respond to your commands, but those commands never make it to the server, and so the server always sends back information that your character never did jump or cast a spell and the cooldown is not active.

As such, the problem is outgoing data packets. Very weird to be only outgoing and not incoming. Could be a couple of things with this priority:
    1. Your game client. It may have issues sending those commands to the server. "No, I don't wanna send them. I'm mad and you can die where you stand."
    2. Your ISP. Throttling outgoing packets? I don't know, with what I've heard about Verizon lately reading in Wikipedia about Net neutrality, it's not unheard of.
    3. Your router? Some kind of software malfunction? The routers that the companies provide when you purchase an internet connection are not state of the art. They usually have cheap implementations of the internet protocols and fail to perform when stuff out of the ordinary happen (like a new computer suddenly plugging in the network and taking the same IP address as my computer...)
    4. Other issue?

Try resetting the router, reinstalling the game and performing frequent restarts (every 2 hours or so?).
My main server is Khyber. Have toons in almost every server for favor purposes. The Faltouts
