Default An Invitation to Dinner...What the 'oly 'ell is going on with this quest? BUGGED?

Treasure Card - Transmuter - North Tower -seek entry below.

Well folks...there is no GD FLIPPING NORTH TOWER ANYWHERE ON THE GD MAP

NOTHING AT ALL IS LABELED AS "NORTH TOWER"

Spent an extra 1.5 hrs looking. I could have repeated the whole quest probably 2 times in the time I have taken to try and play this quest.

    So, effing stupid.

Make your GD ideas work. Make the clues make more sense. Double check to see if there is ANYTHING that could be vague or misunderstood about your clues.

    BECAUSE=====> NO NORTH FLIPPING TOWER

NOTHING EVEN CLOSE TO BEING A "TRANSMUTER"

I *was* really enjoying the new content.

    NOW I AM JUST DISAPPOINTED

I am not going to say the quest is not confusing.
If there's no label on the map saying north tower.. maybe just look for something that looks like a tower and is in the north side of the castle?

I just got this and it took an extra 45 minutes to figure it out, mostly from scouring every floor multiple times.

I had treasure - transmuter - go below

Go to basement and talk to chef.
Ask about key, I bluffed him for it.
Ask again, he mentions where the chest is. North of bone room.
I believe that is the brazier portal, use it and then the brazier.
At top of stairs with the red exit is the chest the key opens.
Loot chest, item drops on floor.
Pick up, complete any other objectives, go to your exit.

    Default Update

Ran again this morning but had a different option for Icon. Was in the Chapel ez-pz.

There *is* a North Tower Stair I could find but no other rooms or areas labeled North Tower or North anything.

If I get this option again I will try bluffing the Chef for the key. I believe I was able to do it on my first run through but did not have to do it for the Icon (at least not that I can recall)

I'll try the steps Xyfiel listed above if I get that location again. I would like know how it's done first hand.

Silver Lining: Time spent running around a quest = knowing the quest better.

Not exactly sure where every green * spits me out at but getting better each time.

Oh and /smh....During my failed run last night I thought for 1/2 a second that the closest thing to a Transmuter would be the cook but didn't get much farther past that. /sigh

Disclaimer: I know this is a necro.

Not my first time doing Ravenloft, but it's been a long time since I got this one: Treasure Card - Transmuter - North Tower -seek entry below.

Glad I found this 18 month old post, after almost an hour of running around thinking I would remember how to do this one eventually, I had to stop for supper while parked in a safe place. Came back and said "screw it" and looked this up.

Worst part was this was on Hardcore, made it all the more frustrating.
My take on "the grind": https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post6220972

Ordinary humans have inhibitions that serve as a buffer against what we know is bad behavior.
However, some people, by blaming others for their own bad behavior, develop a thought pattern that allows them to override self-control in order to achieve a selfish end.
    - My opinion on exploiters and cheaters blaming SSG for unfair punishment.

There’s a neat trick to getting to the brazier room without having to deal with Rahadin and the hates.

Go into the 3rd floor library, and as you enter, you’ll see a closed door on the opposite wall to your 11 o’clock. Opening that door and going down the short flight of stairs takes you to the OTHER door to the brazier room.

I don't do this too often myself, but a lot of people curate Madam Eva's cards to pick the instance they want to play.

I have not seen, found or heard this. Once I found how to advance through Rahadin's room (Don't dally, Points in Search, Search Item, Find/Open Secret door and Skidaddle outta there) I stopped looking.

    Will check it out.

    Thanks!
