Sentient Jewel of the Resolute - eSOS and Balizard

Are the 'free' sentient jewels only usable on the free weapon from the same vendor? I've experimented with some of my named items that state they'll accept it, but none do?

I put my jewel into an epic riftmaker with no problems.

Do your weapons have an augment slotted in them? If so, they won't accept a Sentience jewel. You'll have to use a Jeweler's Toolkit to unslot the augment first. You can re-add your augment after you add your Sentience jewel.

I just added my "free" Sentience jewel to my unslotted Epic Sword of Shadow.

FYI...my ESoS had no Stone of Change rituals added to it, either. I don't know if that's an important detail or not but I included it just in case.
