I'm really enjoying Ravenloft so far, so thanks for that. With that being said, I've encountered some bugs introduced in this expansion that I'll list here to hopefully increase the odds that they'll make it into the inevitable patch that'll show up in a few days.
If people post others, I'll add them to the op.
Bugs
- Examine window appears in an odd location and expands when an effect is added to the subject being examined (not RL specific)
- Legendary memory of fine regalia has the exceptional spell lore/exceptional spell power of the heroic version (3/8 instead of 10/20)
- Some skeletons are healing from positive energy
- Some of the vampires are humans instead of undead (they heal from neg but can be stunned and insta killed etc)
- The horrible freezes are still a thing. Mentioning it here because it came with the Aasimar/RL preorder patch
- In "An Invitation to Dinner", there's a door that's "blocked by the door"
- "A Mad Tea Party" can be rendered impossible to complete. Need further research to confirm scenario(s) where this occurs,
but one of the scenarios seems to be ddooring after going through the tunnel and approaching the lady from the wrong side
- Legendary Morninglord weapons are being given out by the npc in heroic RL
- In "A Raven at the Door", the treasury tower uses the harbor loading screen
- Corrupt guards in the wilderness can sometimes be found holding a sword but attacking with an invisible bow
- Flameskulls are wisps in the focus orb
- Flameskulls cast some spells at ground level instead of skull level
- "Sealed in Amber": Seriach, the Hell-hound Whisperer summons CR 11 hellhounds on legendary difficulties
- "Sealed in Amber": weapon swinging sounds without any visible source are clearly audible when standing near the secret door in the Absent-Minded Lich's room
- "Wrath of the Earth" frequently experiences performance issues, tanking FPS even on respectable systems
- Some weapons that should be able to accept sentience currently do not. Needle (when fully upgraded), Epic Bone Crusher
- Storm Horns/Wheloon named quest rewards cannot currently be fed to sentient weapons. Possibly WAI
- "Sunrise": several scarecrows can get stuck in the invisible barrier on top of the battlements
- "Sunrise": minotaur skeletons aren't properly typed as undead and can be stunned/insta killed
- When talking to Ezmeralda after completing "The Light of the Land" quest arc, placeholder text (~ CR 31 quest arc) is shown in addition to the actual name of the arc[/color]
- "Invitation to Dinner": Strahd portrait spawns well in front of the north frame (on the left when you enter the room). If he teleports to a different portrait and goes back to the north one, he's more appropriately positioned
-
NEW: "Sunrise": during the end fight, Esmeralda occasionally uses an invisible crossbow to attack
-
NEW: Legendary Beacon of Magic set is currently granting only +25 universal spell power instead of +50 universal spell power, +2 spell dcs, +10 artifact bonus to MRR, +20 MRR cap, +5% missile deflection. Additionally, in the set bonus description +2 spell dcs has a backslash in front of it and isn't on a separate line.
-
NEW: "Oath of Vengeance": shrine at the end uses Eberron shrine model
Typos
- In "A Raven at the Door", the second journal entry uses "their" instead of "there". Third journal entry uses "to" instead of "too". Bunch of grammatical errors/incorrect capitalization in the entries as well
- One of the dialogue options for Wensencia Ulrich (the guide outside the Blue Water Inn) reads "Take me to the Blood on the Vine Tavern. in the Village of Barovia"
- Aglaya Karushkin (Fresh Baked Dreams quest giver) doesn't believe in comma splices or run on sentences
- Van Richten's dialogue for "Sealed in Amber" incorrectly uses the word "should" instead of "would" when talking about Kasimir's whereabouts
- Kasimir Velikov's dialogue after raising his sister includes "I am so sorry I, sister"
- Kasimir Velikov's dialogue after "Sealed in Amber" is completed has a space between the word "avenged" and the period
- Davian Martikov (The Last Vintage quest giver) repeatedly capitalizes words that shouldn't be. Once you enter the quest, his daughter does the same thing throughout her dialogue. Improper capitalization must run in the family
- "Sunrise": Abbot has an extra b in an optional objective
Not bugs but funny things I noticed
- You "give" someone an item that drops when you leave the quest
- Harpies that are described as "swooping down on their prey" stay flying well out of melee range
- You're told to go to Tsolenka pass, but the dialogue option for the guide is the Amber Temple (for the quest Sealed in Amber that you don't pick up until you get there). Possibly confusing.
