arriving at the end of the quest the last boss when he runs out of life does not die, you have to push it into the water so that you complete the quest ... could you fix this bug in a timely manner?
That's not a bug. That's how you're supposed to defeat him. When you DPS him down to negatives the GM pops up and even says something like "this isn't working, maybe there's another way!"

I actually avoided dragging him into the water entirely for fear of him resetting. Eventually, after wailing on him for 10min, I figured, eh, either he's bugged or the pond is important: might as well take the risk.
I'd say the problem isn't so much that pond isn't obvious, but experience teaches players that water + boss mobs = work down the drain.
The threadkiller has spoken.
Fight Strahd in the water. He dies faster because I think it stops his incredible fast healing. Not 100% sure on that, but I think it's the case. I kill him faster in the water. Ok, I don't really kill him he just realizes this is a waste of his time.
You can go in the water as soon as Strahd shows up in a rage. You can't enter the water until he appears.
At any rate, yes it's the water that eventually makes Strahd retreat. This is intentional and kind of awesome. Vampires, even super powerful ones like Strahd, don't like water, especially if that water is holy.

There's an implication that the pond is full of holy water.
Those are not pebbles surrounding the urn filled with Human teeth. They are megaliths!
the only problems ive had with that end fight is one time strahd wouldn't die even while in the pond we had to drag him out and back in to reapply the pond debuff/flag on him so we could kill him. oh and ive seen the chick bug trying to come in the door. she eventually triggered the sequence to start the fight but it didn't flag one of the quest requirements so we got no completion
Vampire lore mentions water so even a little vampire knowledge goes a long way .
There are other quests in DDO that have mechanics where a straight beat down is not enough as you need to do other things of even fight him elsewhere.
Tome of the Shadow King (before our dps increase) use to require having to drag the boss to a room to radiate him with intense light
The Shroud - You have to separate the mini-bosses or they won't die
Lord of Blades - You have to kill all the pillars
Spinner of Shadows - You have to light all the torches
And other quests.
The clues to this are in the DM text/voice over as well as the quest givers themselves (this is why I recommend reading the text)

I know the difference between the two quests, and how to break Strahd's DR. However, I was referring to this chain of comments in this thread, which actually are about the Lich in Sealed in Amber.
