    Exclamation SunRise final boss Bug

arriving at the end of the quest the last boss when he runs out of life does not die, you have to push it into the water so that you complete the quest ... could you fix this bug in a timely manner?

That's not a bug. That's how you're supposed to defeat him. When you DPS him down to negatives the GM pops up and even says something like "this isn't working, maybe there's another way!"

seu sure? is there ... are you telling me that the boss when he runs out of life must be dragged into the pond? is not it a strange mechanism? and then do not you think that the first time they run the quest will think it's a bug?

Yes, I'm sure. This is why I have the DM voiceover turned on, so I can hear it when the DM tells me to try something different.

There are plenty of cases in the game where you have to do something special vs. a boss.

I actually avoided dragging him into the water entirely for fear of him resetting. Eventually, after wailing on him for 10min, I figured, eh, either he's bugged or the pond is important: might as well take the risk.

I'd say the problem isn't so much that pond isn't obvious, but experience teaches players that water + boss mobs = work down the drain.

Fight Strahd in the water. He dies faster because I think it stops his incredible fast healing. Not 100% sure on that, but I think it's the case. I kill him faster in the water. Ok, I don't really kill him he just realizes this is a waste of his time.

You can go in the water as soon as Strahd shows up in a rage. You can't enter the water until he appears.

At any rate, yes it's the water that eventually makes Strahd retreat. This is intentional and kind of awesome. Vampires, even super powerful ones like Strahd, don't like water, especially if that water is holy.

There's also that Lich in Sealed in Amber with the special mechanic. Some interesting boss battles in Ravenloft, it's nice

There's an implication that the pond is full of holy water.
Those are not pebbles surrounding the urn filled with Human teeth. They are megaliths!

In order to drive off Strahd, kite him into the pool of water and reduce him to 0 health. When he is in the pool a Holy Water debuff will be applied to him.

    Bottom line...

Vampires are easier to kill when wet
