Crossposting this from another thread regarding the current status of Lines of Supply, as it remains accurate:
This bug is among our top priorities, and once we have the proper QA and Dev resources available (read: past the holidays), we hope to swiftly reproduce the issue, swiftly fix the issue, and get a patch out with the fix in it as soon as possible. This bug reared its head at a very inopportune time, and we thank you for bearing with the closure of this quest through the launch window of Ravenloft.
In addition, we've definitely heard requests to alter the Saga during quest downtime. The format of Sagas (as has been written about elsewhere) does not inherently support this, and creating it for this instance would take a substantial chunk of time from the exact people needed to fix this issue (specifically: myself, Lynnabel, Cocomajobo, and Kookie). Rather than delay the full fix to create a temporary fix, we're just going to work on the full fix.
We've got some useful information already on the nature of the bug, but if anyone else familiar with it wants to send specific details our way, it's always appreciated. Those kinds of details help speed up the process immensely.
Again, thank you for your patience.
We don't only build for the builds that exist.
We don't only build for the builds that are good right now.
The fact that some changes are necessary is not diminished by the fact that other necessary changes have not happened yet.
In the future, I'd like to see this handled by reducing the quest xp to 0, and having the quest auto complete on entry and boot us out. This makes the quest unable to be "run" but doesn't mess with saga completions or flagging (for what goes up in this example). Not sure how complex this would be to setup but it is likely much easier then trying to change the saga itself.
You would think since this has happened in the past with other quests, it wouldn't even be a thinking point for future quests. Players remember stuff and wait for them to come again. Dev's just keep repeating same mistakes over the years and have to keep cleaning up there messes after the fact. Right the first time, not rushed, equals a win for game.
Bug template! QA is here for you.
How random DD is
how to handle this random, anywhere

Although this sounds like an easy fix, it would actually require them to create a brand new quest in the place of the old one. Now, they might be able to put a "Temporarily broken by driuds (or warlocks or wood elves or Strahd)" sign in front of the quest giver that gets taken down when the quest is back to normal. But actually changing the completion objectives for a quest to "entry" or even "walk past this spot" and then returning the quest to normal at a later date seems intensive. The sign would make it easier to check in-game if the quest was running again.
I nearly wanted to log into DDO again these days. Glad I didn't. How hard can it be to monitor XP per hour? Back to something else where I don't feel like the biggest idiot for playing by the rules.

It's not the best XP/hour. You get more by actually playing said game. It's the fact that you get XP while sleeping and doing other things. And yes, it's cheating, but the notion that it was good xp/hour is just hilarious. People will believe just about anything.
Besides, if you want to play DDO, go for it. No one is forcing you to cheat and it is STRONGLY discouraged (When SSG gets around to it). Play because you enjoy it. The game is for entertainment. At the end of the day, if you are not having fun, you should probably find a new activity anyways.
Dear DDO-fan. We got different information on those topics then. There were several exploits possible with different scale of outcome. I think one epic past live per evening WAS the best XP/hour since… well…we are still not allowed to discuss that here anyway. And my point stands that it should not be that hard to monitor for such events. The game is for entertainment as you say and I am not entertained when my honest earned past lives feel invalidated. I found something else to play a long time ago, I just log into DDO now and then for the sake of all the good evenings I had some years ago. I play games that indeed STRONGLY discurage cheating

Lines of Supply is open again? Woot! (Just starting on the Eveningstar Heroic sagas, neither of which can be finished without LoS.)
