This has been happening for about a week: If I press Alt-Tab to switch to a different program, DDO client loses connection. It never was an issue before. I am on Windows 10.
I may be wrong, but I think it started with the latest Windows update.

So, there's a couple things you can try to narrow down what's going on.
If you have two monitors, you can change graphics mode from "Fullscreen" to "Windowed Fullscreen",
and then you don't have to Alt-Tab to change focus to another window. If you're in Mouselook you
just toggle that off, and you can move the mouse out of the DDO window over to the other monitor.
I run this way all the time - you do take a slight hit in FPS, so if your rig is marginal this might not
be a great solution.
If you're on a single monitor you can do "Windowed" and then have the other window you want to
access peeking out from under the DDO window and like above, just click on the window frames to
swap and see if that works.
At least this will tell you if the problem is just a "Fullscreen" issue, or if something in your environment
fails when the DDO client loses focus.
The problem is clearly with "Fullscreen" mode. If I use Alt-Enter to get out of Fullscreen, then switch to another window, there is no problem. Still, it is something that never happened in the past.
