    Default Ravenloft Wilderness FPS

I normally get 50-60 fps in most areas of DDO.

I stepped into the mists and fps dropped to 12. (That is a lot of trees to render.)

Also, when in the test dojo, anytime an Asimar race character came near me my frame rate dropped to 4. (Could it be the eyes? I think I read somewhere something about them having glowy eyes?)

This is going to be unplayable for a lot of people as-is.

May I ask what the broad strokes of the machine you are running on are? Trying to get a sense of where on the spectrum of our userbase your machine lands so we can know how much adjustment needs to be made to make things able to be run smoothly for everyone.

You certainly may! Thanks for asking! Suppose I should have included that in my initial report...

This be the cheapy laptop I'm running on:

Note I have pretty much all the graphics settings set to the lowest possible values except for: medium textures and medium terrain distance and very high object distance.

Note that the ini has "FullScreen=False", but I am running the game fullscreen, not windowed. (suspect this setting is no longer used?)

Note also, I used the windows advanced power settings to ensure the cpu is at full power all the time. When I first started playing on this machine I noticed weird dips in the fps for extended periods and found the cpu working at half speed. So I adjusted the windows power settings.

I set the minimum processor rate to 100% and set the Intel Graphics Power Plan to maximum performance. This corrected that issue.

(sheesh intel, if I have a 2.65 GHz cpu I want it to run at that while gaming... not drop down to 1.6GHz whenever it feels like it. long story short: the Intel cpu power management code is braindead and throttles down the cpu even when under high load.)

a copy/paste from a dxdiag would help the most.

    Curious.
Are changes made to higher settings as well?
If so, is there a way to go above what we have now?
Maybe an super ultra high res pack?
Some higher settings then what we have now?

Is there a way to get bigger icons and UI?
I don't like having to look for my reading glasses to select or even read things of the hotbars at 4K

For everyone who had troubles with performance in the first preview:

We have added two new options in the Advanced Graphics section which allow you to adjust both your Frill Density and Frill Draw Distance. We believe the amount of frills on screen at any one time (which Ravenloft currently has a LOT of) was the primary culprit of performance issues. If you get a chance to hop onto this second preview we would love it if you would play around with the Frill graphics options and tell us if you see an improvement in performance!

    Coco?
I did some stress testing, 3 accounts at the same time with max settings, max frill, no issues on 4k. Ran for 13 hours straight.
On the lowest frill settings, navigating becommes too easy, nothing really blocks the view.

I do have some questions about the wilderness though. Let me know if this isn't the right place for this.

Why is the water so shallow? In many places the lake was knee deep.
Wouldn't it be fun to have 3 watery grave, no save death traps in the lakey?
Some tentacle beast with an instakill?
The rive across the land isn't all that deep either.
Come to think of it, with all the invisible walls and vertical mountainwalls, low water depth and clossed of quest areas, it feels kind of flat, i miss the days of tomb raider type of quests.

In all my runs through the wilderness area, i haven't found a reason to deviate from the roads, all the quests were easy to find, maybe too easy?
